I just noticed that nobody has mentioned Legolas/Bloom... In my case, that's because I wasn't at all impressed. He wasn't bad in the role. LotR elves are supposed to be androgynous and otherworldly, and Orlando Bloom works in that sense, I just don't think he did anything particularly well, either. He was almost invisible next to some of the other folks who played elves in those movies. I know you didn't like Hugo Weaving in the movies (and I HATED that portrayal of Elrond as an obnoxious bigot who for some reason hated Aragorn...), but if you compare Bloom to Weaving, IMO there's a distinct gap. Bloom LOOKS a little odd... everything about Weaving suggests that he's not from around here.

Remember Wildknight, I hate Legolas in the Lord of the Ring films. There are many reasons why, and Bloom is one of them.
I just found it curious that nobody had mentioned him at all.

Also yes, John Rhys-Davies was really good as Gimli as well. Also Bernard Hill was pretty good as Theoden. I just noticed that nobody has mentioned Legolas/Bloom... When I was younger Legolis was my favorite character. I thought the bow and knife things were so cool. I always used him in all the games

I'm with Knight, I'm not a big Jeff Daniels fan but I loved that speech and I really liked him in that movie.

For some reason I always felt Theoden's speech was underwhelming, while Aragorn's speech made me feel empowered. I remember as a kid when I heard Aragorn's speech I actually jumped up out of my seat and yelled as the men charged. Yeah when I was watching Theoden's speech I literally became aware of my excitement- I had already really enjoyed the film to that point so by the time that scene rolled I could feel my adrenaline building and my teeth clenching a bit like "Aw YEAH! It's ON! This is gonna be AWESOME!!!" I mean cliche though it is, it's scenes such as this that make me a fan of the movies. I can't overstate how much I loved that scene. There is, however, one teeny little visual detail that can totally take you out of it. So much so that once you notice it, you might never be able to enjoy it correctly again. It's one of those "wristwatch on the soldier" type of goofs but not exactly, and I hesitate to point it out. I deliberately hadn't read the books for years before watching the film again so I had completely forgotten at this point that the Rohirrim would be turning up. For some reason I thought it went straight to Aragorn and his merry men of dead people. For this reason I actually was properly excited when they turned up and, if I wasn't in the cinema, I would have been "a whoopin and a hollerin'" at that scene.

Sean bean is amazing actor who is underated beyond belief Sean Bean has also one one accent, and that's Sean Bean. He's like the Sheffield version of Sean Connery.

Wait, so you're saying that a Russian submarine Captain shouldn't have exactly the same accent as James Bond??? EDIT: IMO, Bean does a passable American accent

You'll have a lot of fun Charlie. As for Legolas. I liked him alright in Fellowship, I thought that he was a good ensemble member (in fact I love the fellowship dynamic, that's probably why that film is my favorite) but as I've said before, that moment near the end where he shoots three orcs in rapid succession- literally like one per second- had me glowing. I thought that was badass. Sean Bean has also one one accent, and that's Sean Bean. He's like the Sheffield version of Sean Connery. Wait, so you're saying that a Russian submarine Captain shouldn't have exactly the same accent as James Bond??? EDIT: IMO, Bean does a passable American accent Coincidentally (and you probably already knew this) Sean Bean was actually in a Bond movie. He played 006.

Hey, look, as far as I'm concerned it's hilarious whenever one of you people attempts to sound American 8) Damien Lewis did one pretty well. It's more hilarious when one of you guys tries a British accent. Especially as the one you guys are convinced we all have isn't really a very common one.

The girl from England that I talk to chuckled at my British accent, but was utterly enthralled with what she called my "Tennessee" accent.
When my friend from Wisconsin gets GTA V this Christmas I'll probably get a headset so I can chat with him while we play. If other people are on I'll probably speak in an Australian accent. It was good enough to fool some goof on a plane trip to California, it will fool a bunch of retarded 13 year old gangsta children.
EDIT: This is one of those times that I wish I was playing GTA on the 360 with you guys. I don't know if you still play GTA since you all completely abandoned the thread when we moved to this forum but I encountered an apparent hacker today. I guess he was ridiculously wealthy because, well...let's just say that I was in the right place at the exact right time.
- I like the Sheffield accent, then.

Same accent as he has in Game of Thrones. Sean Bean doesn't do accents, he does Sean Bean.
And no, I am not playing GTA at the moment, nor am I really playing my xbox that much. In the throws of moving in with my girl so console time is limited.
