After the (Banned) Punt Kick from Orton at Survivor Series & the brutal targeting of his head on Monday's RAW, Big Show was evaluated & appeared to have concussion-causing symptoms, due to this Show did not appear at Tuesday's Smackdown Tapings & may not be on RAW next week.
What do you think about this?
As far as the Punt Kick is concerned, the doctors said that the kick from Orton Sunday would have given any other Superstar an automatic concussion, but due to his size & stature, Big Show did not have much head trauma at the time. The brutal beatdown of Show's head Monday is what caused even further Trauma. |

Well, given that the punt kick being banned is only kayfabe, it's pretty obvious that this storyline is only kayfabe.

Show is legit hurt, but it will be used to carry the storyline, & the Punt is actually banned by WWE to avoid concussions as id the piledriver.

It's a storyline to explain why Show dropped immediately out of the Main Event picture after one shot at the title when most contenders get 2 or 3. The punt kick is not banned, either. Here are a couple of good rules of thumb for you 1) If it's in a dirt sheet, it's a lie, period. 2) If it comes straight from the WWE, it's kayfabe, period 3) If you see a top guy in the company doing something and the company says he's not supposed to be doing it, it's kayfabe, period. Like all rules of thumb, these are not universally true... but they're true often enough that you'll rarely go wrong by making them your base assumption. |

This does illustrate something that I think is really cool about the way WWE is operating right now. Since it's impossible to have traditional kayfabe due to the entertainment media scrutinizing everything (WWE would have had an impossible time hiding the romantic relationships between Bryan, Cena, and the Bellas, for example), the WWE is now using the media to reinforce what I like to call "the new kayfabe." It's kind of fascinating watching how they manipulate the media through "leaked reports" and other elements of staged reality.
