Inventers of the first Playstation, a console that took the competition, as well as the world by storm. They've had quite the storied past. Going from the Playstation 2 being the highest selling home console of all time to the portable PSP Go and Vita which either died or has a rocky start.
If you want to discuss Sony hardware for better or for worse, this is the place to do it.

I like Sony. I never owned a PS1, was a N64 kid. However, I enjoyed my days with my PS2 and am still enjoying my PS3. I had a PSP at one point but it either died or the battery did, it won't power on anymore. I will try to get a PS4 sometime next year if they can get their crap sorted out.

Yea I to never spent much time with PS1, I was a N64 boy as well. But once I got a PS2 my Nintendo days was pretty much over. I rolled with Sony from then on and never looked back.

I have a PS1 (works but not being used right now), PS2, PS3.
I was going to get a Sony TV but ended up settling with a Toshiba to save some cash. But I'm happy with it, it works flawlessly with my Sony consoles.

I like Sony because it took out a company (Nintendo) that had basically ruled the industry for awhile. Nintendo's hanging on by a thread still, but Sony basically took them out. Some people will argue that Microsoft did, and I'll tell them they're wrong.

Microsoft didn't do shit to Nintendo in all honesty. The first XBOX couldn't hang with PS2 and was failure prone. While 360 was a success, both 360 and PS3 together couldn't stop Wii from being profitable.
The 2 consoles that hurt Nintendo the most was the PS1 and the PS2. XBOX was just a after thought to them.
Nintendo had a comeback with Wii after having their ass handed to them by Sony for 2 generations. But they looked to have fucked themselves this gen with WiiU.

I've always been big on Sony and Nintendo. I grew up with Nintendo so I'm hooked on Zelda and Smash Bros. games. However, I like the sports games the PS3 offers (The Show, NBA 2k, and WWE of course) those aren't always available on Nintendo systems. I also like a lot of the RPG's you can get on Sony like Ni No Kuni

Playstation got the idea of Playstation 1 from Nintendo's Fail 3d consol. Or something. Actually Sony was working under Nintendo when they suggested the PlayStation 1 idea. Nintendo promptly denied them because it used discs instead of cartridges. Sony then stopped working with Nintendo and created their system. Nintendo and Sony still hate each other to this day for that incident. Learn your video game history please.

PS2 is the highest selling console of all time... because it had the longest lifespan, and for no other reason. Let's not act as if it were evidence of Sony's brilliant engineering. The fact that it stayed on the shelf half a decade longer than it's competition certainly helped.

It stayed on the shelves longer because it sold more, lol.

It stayed on the shelves longer because it sold more, lol. No... it stayed on shelves longer because Sony continued to manufacture it. Nintendo and MS didn't discontinue their previous consoles because they weren't selling, they discontinued them to avoid cluttering the market. Claiming that the PS2 stayed on shelves because it was such a hot seller requires you to ignore certain things that I like to call "facts." The reality is that Sony was twisting arms to get people to keep making games for a system that nobody was interested in developing for anymore.

I have nothing bad to say about Sony besides having to pay for online this generation and when I sent they back my broken PS2 they just sent me back another one. To be fair I haven't had any big problem with Microsoft either. Nintendo is a different story I been really disappointed with them since the GameCube.
