I'm curious about that Miley pic, and here's why. Don't celebrities have "people" to tell them things like that? I mean, she looks patently ridiculous with her excess cheek fat squeezed out of the vinyl panties, and it's not like anyone standing behind her couldn't have seen that. Why was there no personal assistant or MTV production assistant standing around to say "ah... Miley? It looks like seven pounds of white bread dough are trying to escape from your pants"

My brother was watching an interview of her and she said something along the lines of "You know, everybody backstage except maybe 2 or 3 people warned me about wearing that costume. I didn't care, I told them all that I liked it and I wasn't pleasing other people and it's time to please myself."
I agree with it to a certain extent, but she's just trying too hard.

I'm not suggesting she should change to please other people (though sometimes, you should). I'm suggesting she should have some self-respect 8)

I mean... it's weird. But don't a lot of pop icons do something similar? So that you start talking about them?

Dressing silly is all part of the gig What I'm saying is... usually the freakish costume is meant to flatter, at least somewhat. Miley's outfit wasn't particularly outrageous... it just seems like it wasn't properly fitted to her. She's trying SO hard to be outrageous that she doesn't even have a basic level of common sense anymore.

I'm not sure if they're mocking Miley for being unoriginal, or mocking others for being outraged...
On the subject of the latter though. I personally don't think there was any real outrage. I think the media talked about a lot of outrage, but I honestly don't think anyone gave a crap.

I agree, I don't think many people cared. It was one of those, did you even watch the awards? No...oh well.

They was pretending to be people who are outraged about her doing something all pop singers do.

I think people was "outraged" just to be mad about something.

Nobody knew Miley was still in the music industry, but when the news covered her performance like pigs in a blanket (wait. what?) it became cool to point and laugh.
It's just life.

Actually, Barrett does very well at drawing interest. Twice in the past 18 months he's reached #4 in t-shirt sales (not overall merch), which is a lot more impressive than it sounds when you consider that it's virtually impossible to break into the Cena/Punk/Bryan triangle, and there are still guys like Ziggler and HHH who constantly have new shirts out and move them like gangbusters. Barrett's segment ratings were pretty good throughout the "Barrett Barrage" era as well. People care about Wade Barrett. WWE doesn't take notice, for whatever reason. Ah I see. Well if WWE doesn't listen to live crowds, votes, or even sales numbers. Then what in gods name do they listen to?

I think people was "outraged" just to be mad about something. I honestly don't think any significant number of people were. The only "outrage" I ever saw was the media continually saying that people were outraged.

Thing about wade is he easily forgettable and very one dimensional. Things seem to never change with him

But their "things" pop the crowd. Wade hasn't found his thing yet nor does he have half the charisma they posess ... except that, as I just said, the dude moves merchandise and does strong segment ratings. How does he not "pop" the crowd? Charisma is unquantifiable, but it's results are measurable. Wade Barrett has been a success and a good money maker for WWE.
