I think you're getting off track. The point is that Bane is obviously defensive of a group to which he belongs and is unreasonably insisting that soon's (and my) personal experience is somehow inferior to his own. Suffice it to say, I strongly disagree. As I already said, in my experience fighting game crowds are the no-holds barred prize winners for most obnoxious genre, followed very closely by FPS players, with Skyrim fans being a distant third 8)

FPS definitely is considered the worst, as it's the much more mainstream, and more accessed, form of gaming. Fighting games however, despite being one of the other step childs of the major players, is also widely considered to have a terrible community by most of the people out there. The amount of people driven away from the community by their complete assholishness is too damn high. You start playing a fighting game and people show no mercy, they go all out and then when you lose they mock you. Oh, and if you win? Just wait for the hate mail you'll get. You then attempt to get better and look for someone to tutor you. Good luck with that, you'll get shunned more times than not. Eventually you'll get lucky and find a decent person who will teach you how to play well...
You know what, I'm going to stop before I go on an enormous rant, but this describes my experience with pretty much every fighting game I've tried.

Quite a few, too many to count actually. I've stated before that it's usually what I do with gaming, and I'm not joking Mortal Kombat series Tekken Series Soul Calibur series And since this is technically it's own series, Marvel vs Capcom series. Too many to count, and yet you can only list 4 series? You asked what communities I was a part of, and I told you. That being said, do you realize how many tournaments there are for each game all of the time? I play more than that, but those are the games I actually participate in and follow. For example, I play Injustice, haven't competed in anything that has to do with the game though.

I've been in over 500 or so myself...(I've only won one, don't laugh)

I'm not the best, but I usually don't play to win, I just play because it's something I love and it comes easily. I can learn combos like crazy, but when it comes to the pressure of a tournament and playing with somebody that knows those combos and such, it's just too much for me to handle and I'm really not that great. Losing only makes me try harder though, lol.

So, want to try and bulls*** your way out of that up there? Also the company that made Street Fighter came out and said that misogyny was so prevalent in their game that it was almost like a boy's club(You know, the ones with "No Girls Allowed" signs) Also here is a conversation between an interviewer and Seth Killian(A very prevalent fighting game developer) Matt Parker, game designer and teacher: "On the streams, I've heard, when a female player is competing things like 'I'd do her' and things like that on a stream. That's super-alienating to females. I like females. I like Street Fighter. I'd like them to like each other. I don't understand why this is there and I think it really does hurt the community, which otherwise is very embracing and very open." Seth Killian, Capcom: "I'll take that one on the chin, and then [gesturing to Arturo] you can chime in. Japan's a very different place [laughter from the crowd] Set your cultural wayback dial to, like, maybe '50s?" Parker: "But Street Fighter II didn't have that." Killian: "Well, we didn't have the technology. [laughter from crowd] to zoom in on the buttocks."

Damn it, it's not letting me post this up there for whatever reason... In case you don't know who Choco is, and I'm sure you do, she's one of the best Street Fighter players in the world.

Like I said, there are rotten apples in every bunch, you just have to me searching for the best ones.
Choco is good though, I don't know how anybody can say otherwise.

That's what makes it a terrible community. I don't know if there are more and/or if they're worse, but it's certainly been my experience that there are a lot of douchesacks. I haven't had nearly as much personal experience with the FPS crowd... I mostly accept what others have to say about them because the reports are too numerous to disregard.
