... I can empathize with the guy breaking the Skyrim disc. Unfortunately, it won't erase Skyrim from existence, so as cathartic as it might be, the loathing is only going to build right back up 8)

"Urrg, too much freedom and open-world gameplay, it frustrates me so!" *Snap*

"Urrg, too much freedom and open-world gameplay, it frustrates me so!" *Snap* What you call "freedom"? I call "no $#@!ing plot and no $#@!ing reason to play the game whatsoever." Say whatever you want... even compared to other "open world" games, Skyrim is basically nothing but a character generator and a random encounter generator strung together with some hideously stupid visuals.

I liked Skyrim and had fun out of it but it was MASSIVELY overrated. I remember looking so forward to it and it was okay, even good, but it wasn't the greastest game ever by any stretch of the imagination like most made it out to be.

I would say that I can't imagine breaking any of my games on purpose but when I was younger and my temper was a little less in check it's possible that I may have whipped a cartridge or three against the floor or basement wall.

I launched a rented copy of Super Mario 64 so hard that it broke once. I crazy glued it back together and returned it 8)

I smashed the fuck out of said controller until it looked similar to this on a cord

Heh... I always wondered what the vibrator things looked like inside 8)
The only controller I ever broke open was a Genesis controller, and that was over someone's head... and I couldn't stick around to see what the innards looked like.

I've broke several controllers, Most have been minor though, Like a crack in the controller or something like that.

I've never been a rage monster, so I can't say I ever got that bothered about a game I smashed something up.
When I got frustrated, I either worked out how to do one of 3 things:
1: Complete the level/boss fairly 2: Cheat, cheat like a boss 3: Put down the controller, do something else like read. Then come back later to finish it.

I suppose it's because I played a lot of rugby and got my aggression out on the pitch instead.

Un-healthy I know

I find that breaking things is cathartic. It's better than breaking people, at any rate 8)

When I played rugby, I saw people as things. I hit them, hard. I wanted to learn to play rugby so badly. It looks awesome. There wasn't really rugby to be had, but I made do with football and martial arts 8)

I always keep getting told learning a martial art would be good for me, I really don't have the will or patience to want to though.
My girlfriend enjoys hers though. If anyone even tries to attack us I'd be sorry for them, with a combination of her snap kick and my rugby tackle/punch combo they'd be pretty much out of it.

Partly because of the description and partly because I've been there (though not with Super Mario 64, lol). In my experience the N64 carts were surprisingly bulky and sturdy, their contents filled up the majority of the plastic. NES (and to a lesser extent Super NES) carts were relatively hollow however, so I still have a couple of those games floating around as loose circuit boards
