I don't care how much you can customize the game... if the matches suck (and make no mistake, FirePro matches SUCK), then it's not a good wrestling game, period.

This "one, two, THREE!" timing-based grapple mechanic is the most retarded thing I've ever seen and the specific reason why I've not been able to enjoy the series as much as I'd genuinely like to. Typical FirePro Fan Says: "You just don't get it. It's strategic." Me Says: "No it's not you $#@!ing idiot, it's rock,paper, scissors, now shut up and get the $#@! out." |

I've tried on more than one occasion to get into the Fire Pro series (once with the GBA game and again several years later with the one on the PS2). It bums me out because it seems that the games are rich with deep customization options but I can't stand the f***ing gameplay. Yea, as I said I hate the controls and they pretty much kill the gameplay for me. I hate the timing based stuff too. That's actually what I'm talking about I think. I just can't figure out how to pull off any moves other than punching a bunch. That's why I only use it as a sim. |
