It's so strange how Wild and I have similar tastes in comics, and pretty much nothing else.

Kids my age watched Spiderman and Batman in the 90's. I watched Kipper.
Though that may be why I've been impervious to liking Batman all these years.

Don't fool yourself. You just have also said that he's overrated, which I've never argued with. I've also said I mainly like Wolverine for sentimental reasons, lol. Kids my age watched Spiderman and Batman in the 90's. I watched Kipper. Though that may be why I've been impervious to liking Batman all these years. Ehhh, Batman may have been more interesting if he could lose. Writers prevent him from losing though, therefore I can always guess the outcome.

I do however like a lot of Batman villains. Even the stupid ones.

Superheroes technically don't lose. Karate masters in spandex taking out amazons with basic Brazilian ju jitsu is sheer nonsense.

I used to like Wolverine... before they dramatically altered his personality and made him the center of the universe. Wolverine used to be as near perfect as you could get in an anti-hero. He was with the X-Men not because he shared their beliefs and goals, but because he needed them and they needed him. It caused conflict and made Wolverine interesting, and it made the few times Wolverine came across as genuinely human a lot more unique. His affection for Kitty Pryde and Jubilee, for example, were rare things that you didn't see from him most of the time.
... now Wolverine is the "uber good guy" archetype. Yes, he struggles with violent impulses, but he's supposed to be the moral center of the X-Men, and it just doesn't hold up for me, particularly since in order to get there they've had to compromise the established personalities of so many other characters. Wolverine is "good" now so Cyclops has to be "bad." That's just stupid.

I do hate the fact that they changed Wolverine from what made him unique for absolutely no reason at all.

So when did Thor become a woman and Captain America become a black guy?

So when did Thor become a woman and Captain America become a black guy? Thor isn't becoming a woman until October, and Captain America is still a white guy 8)

So when did Thor become a woman and Captain America become a black guy? Thor became a woman this week. Most likely the same for Captain America. By this week, I mean they announced it this week.

*facepalm* Abso$#@!inglutely stupid. I hate you Marvel. Get out of my life. I mean, you HAVE A BLACK CAPTAIN AMERICA. His name is Patriot. Remember him? Very popular character, led the Young Avengers, already knows how to use the shield and everything? Has the same Super Soldier Serum as Steve Rogers. No, you don't remember him? Oh well then I guess it makes sense that you would choose $#@!ing Sam Wilson, the guy whose gimmick is flying and controlling birds, to be the next Cap. I mean, it's a totally similar skill set. I'm just... thoroughly disgusted by this crap. I don't know what's worse... the fact that they're doing this crap, the fact that they're only doing it for publicity, or the fact that everyone knows these changes never last which makes the completely pointless in the first place. Just... go $#@! yourself Marvel. Seriously.

Marvel's AVENGERS NOW! Confirms Major Changes for the Big Three Marvel Comics will roll out a third wave of the Marvel NOW! initiative this fall, Entertainment Weekly has revealed. Called Avengers NOW!, the initiative will see Iron Man, Captain America and Thor radically altered and give each of the three a new #1. It will also feature a renewed focus on Deathlok and the Winter Soldier, with more than new ten titles in the planning stages. We already knew about the female Thor -- and tonight on The Colbert Report, we learned that Sam Wilson, better known as The Falcon, will take over the identity of Captain America. The third major title announcement made tonight -- and the one nobody had an idea of -- is Superior Iron Man #1, which EW says "sends Tony Stark to San Francisco with a new outfit and a new perspective on life." “The Genius Bar costume is there for a reason,” Marvel editor-in-chief Axel Alonso said of the new suit seen above. “The newly-transformed Superior Iron Man has very ambitious plans for the city that some of its residents embrace, but not all.” Alonso added, “Like the Superior Spider-Man, Superior Iron Man is a character that’s hard to root for.” The series is written by Tom Taylor and drawn by Yildiray Cinar. Writer Rick Remender will be joined by artist Stuart Immonen for All-New Captain America #1, featuring Wilson in the title role. Alonso told EW that the title is “very much a jumping-on point [for people] who both like the Captain America and really enjoyed the second Captain America movie," which featured Mackie as Falcon -- the character's first big-screen appearance. “For reasons that will be revealed in Original Sin, Thor won’t be able to pick up the hammer,” Alonso said of Thor. “Someone has to pick up the hammer. And someone does. And they become Thor.” While the image below certainly suggests that Angela -- many people's odds-on favorite -- won't be the one to wield Mjolnir, Alonso also said her identity won’t be revealed immediately.

Well they're fucking stupid. All three of the fucking changes are fucking stupid. They've literally changed every thing about three of their biggest characters. Then again, it apparently worked for Spider-Man, so who knows?

Superior Spider-Man was hard to root for? I cried more when he died then I did when Parker died.
I'm fine with Sam taking over the identity of Captain America, IF there's a good enough excuse for it. And IF he keeps Redwing. If they ditch his past gimmick instead of merging the two, that's a deal breaker.
Thor Girl is hot. Who the frick is standing to the left of her. And what happened to the other Thor Girl?

All of this is insanely stupid. Welcome to the new age of comics. Shock value > Story value.

Stark looks like the Silver Surfer, all of them look ridiculously stupid. I actually really like Bucky's "Winter Soldier" getup. The rest of them are pretty stupid looking though. It's funny... they "modernize" everyone's costumes because the classic suits apparently don't cut it anymore, and the modern suits look even more ridiculous than the classics... and worse, the "classic" suits they do keep, like the one on Scarlet Witch, are the worst of the classic costumes. Sometimes I think they're trying to generate disinterest.
