And a super, super nice guy behind the scenes. All he seemed to care about in regards to Breaking Bad was how lucky he was to be on the show and whether his performance was good enough to not drag it down.

Maybe he's going by Mr. Show, or he knows something that I don't (which is pretty much guaranteed since I'm not too familiar with the actor). Going by two lengthy interviews he gave for the show (one by Opie and Anthony, the other by the crew and creator of the show for the official podcast), Bob Odenkirk's earnest humility was apparent. Listening to the things he says and the way in which he says them, he strikes me as a gentleman.

If we are talking about Speeches. Jesse Pinkman speech with the words "I HAVE NOTHING!" Actually... The single greatest speech in the entire series in my opinion is Walt's "People move on speech." I wish I could find it on Youtube...

If he's mostly familiar with Odenkirk from Mr. Show, that would explain a lot... almost every character Odenkirk played on Mr. Show was an egomaniac jerkass. He actually played the role very well LOL

I only saw one clip of that show so far, it involved a man walking into a store to change a dollar and the clerk going through a lengthy chain of command to get permission to give it to him. I have to admit that I didn't find it laugh out loud funny but I was very amused by the concept and overall execution.
But yeah I was actually quite surprised by Odenkirk's comments and demeanor in the Breaking Bad interviews. He seemed so....aw shucks sweet.

I don't think Odenkirk's style is "laugh out loud funny." I think his comedy tends more towards the surreal... which is why it didn't do well with the Comedy Central crowd.
