The odd thing is, Spacey was very enthusiastic when doing the press for that movie. He talked about it like it was a dream role and he had high hopes for the next movie.
Part of the problem (admittedly, not Spacey's fault) was that they tried to tie Returns in to the old movie series, which meant copying Hackman's Luthor... which wasn't even an accurate portrayal of how Luthor was shown in the comics at the time they put out the last one, much less 20 years later.

Of the original films I only saw Superman II and while I liked it, I didn't care for Hackman's performance. He's a great actor yet to me he was just...Gene Hackman.
And what was the weird relationship he had with Ned Beatty? :/

A better question is; why was Ned Beatty ever in any movie, ever?

Yep, Superman II was a lot of fun and I don't even care about that particular series. Of the original films I only saw Superman II and while I liked it, I didn't care for Hackman's performance. Superman II was okay, but after I started reading comics and realized how badly they'd botched the characterization of BOTH of the main characters, I could never watch it again.

Well then he's pretty darned stupid because he keeps throwing his top guys into a series of fights that inevitably destroy their bodies. ... maybe he's cloning them or something, and just needs to find out which ones are worth making copies of.

Thanks, I feel that it's pretty badass. I love that it doesn't scream "BREAKING BAD" in big bold letters. People will either get it or they won't.

... apparently they're doing everything in their power to destroy Breaking Bad's legacy. They're making a prequel TV series called "Better Call Saul" about Saul Goodman and Mike

Lol I was talking to my friend about that last week. I dunno, while it's completely unnecessary and is more likely to suck than not, I'm a fan of Saul and figure that if it's the same writing team it could be entertaining.

It could be funny, but I don't know why they'd want to take the risk
