It's a terrible, pompous, self-aggrandizing arthousey exercise in emo excess. Avoid it. You mean like 90% of teen books?

I wouldn't know, the last time I knowingly read a teen book was back in like 1989.

I'm not surprised. Young girls seem incredibly easy to pander to. Make your story about hot boys- preferably effeminate ones- and you've got an instant best-seller. Also, vampyres.

Also having two hot guys fighting over the girl also makes it an instant top seller... Like... The Hunger Games... Twilight... Mortal Instruments...(I think, unsure of this, but highly likely judging by the cover of this book...) And this one

Yep, Mortal Instruments is tween romance fiction. The movie was halfway watchable, but then they crapped all over it with a cheesy romance angle. The plot itself and mythos was actually pretty enjoyable.... then all of a sudden you're hit in the face with a scene of a couple of a demon hunters falling in love as it gently rains on them INSIDE A GREEN HOUSE

I suppose the story is good enough, but the writing is pretty blegh.

I like that it looks as if Soon is trying to describe something but is so nauseated by the subject matter that he can only produce occasional vomit sounds.

Gregor The Overlander...
I never finished that book series. Wish I did. It was terrific. But on another note, here is my 'Christmas' song....

Today, a couple of different takes on one of my favorites. True story; I used to know all of the lyrics to Adeste Fideles by heart

I was supposed to sing Adeste Fideles for Choir in high school. I couldn't remember the lyrics in time so I sang "Try To Remember" Instead. I love both songs.

Here we are at Christmas Eve... Silent Night, as rendered by Motown legends The Temptations
... and in the original German (we used to sing this song in German every Christmas Eve at my church, I really miss that tradition)
German is... not a pretty language. Very expressive though.
And, my favorite Christmas Eve Traditional...
