Which One Hit Wonder is the greatest?

Some of my favorites are "Take on Me" by A-Ha, "Come on Eileen" (forgot the name of the band), and "Missing You" by John Waite.

They're all officially considered one hit wonders.

But they're not. For example, Survivor has had a number of charted songs, so "Eye of the Tiger" is not a one hit wonder.

Their other songs include:

"Burning Heat" (has got 2nd on U.S. charts)
"High On You" (8th on U.S. Charts
"I can't Hold Back" (1st on U.S Charts)


These aren't even all of them, just ones that come to mind....

That's not even me mentioning the fact that Bob Marley's on your damn list, which obviously isn't a one hit wonder.

Just because other songs they made got on the charts doesn't mean these songs aren't one hit wonders. A one hit wonder is when they are mainly known for a single success, which Survivor is. Now the song Blue perhaps might be a bit sketchy due to Move Your Body, but that's probably the sketchiest it gets on this list.

Lol, Bob Marley didn't actually sing the song you fool. The singer was actually Bobby McFerrin, and many people misattributed it to Bob Marley.

No, that's where you're wrong. A one hit wonder is when somebody is ONLY recognized for one song. Survivor is not. Survivor has had plenty of hits, and plenty of people like those hits. You're confusing, most well known songs and one-hit wonders up.

I actually know that version, I thought you meant the Bob Marley version, since it is the "most well known" (or one hit wonder in your head) version of the song. I will however admit that the Bobby's version didn't click when I read the song title.

Let me say, I didn't literally mean that Marley's version was the most well known version. Don't take that seriously, although it's pretty up there.

See, this is why I usually don't talk about Reggae music, lol.


Although, I'm pretty sure but not positive, Bob Marley's original version of the song (which is rare and I'll try finding it) is different lyrics and tune than the version you're thinking of. Once again though, not 100% positive, give me a sec and I'll look for the version (I may need to attach a file from my itunes because it's nothing that was sold, it was his like garage recordings sort of say).
