I wouldn't be surprised. They're obviously setting up a HHH/Punk thing (again), which is really stupid IMO. HHH needs to just stay out of the ring. I don't think he really has a choice, I'm pretty sure he signed a new contract not to long ago (2012 maybe) that includes him having appear 180 dates per year for four years. So if it was 2 years ago (I'm pretty sure it was) he's going to be wrestling into 2016 Edit: Though I do agree with you, he should just retire from in ring competition already.

HHH is McMahon's son-in-law. Nobody is going to bat an eyelash if he doesn't wrestle a certain number of dates... and even if that weren't the case, he didn't work anything close to 180 weeks last year

 Back to HHH, That what WWE stated in their "10K report" of 2011 Here are some direct quotes from the report: "Levesque will be paid a 'Minimum Annual Compensation' of $1 million for each year under contract." "Levesque will be limited to 180 dates per year, unless both parties mutually agree to extend beyond that number. " "Levesque cannot work or perform in any capacity for any 'martial arts' organization while under contract." Also, I'm pretty sure that includes dates in a non-wrestling capacity & He has been on screen almost weekly since before Summerslam so he may have worked the 180 dates last year.

Cena is a Legend, and most records should be broken at some point. The only record in wrestling that should stand forever (or at least until there's someone REALLY worthy of breaking it) is Ric Flair's number of titles. Everything else is negotiable. I have to agree 100% with WK here. I hate Ric Flair, but that record is THE record that should never be broken. Ric Flair deserves that record. I also believe that Kane's 11 man Royal Rumble elimination record should never be broken for 2 reasons: 1. I'm a nostalgic lover of Kane, I'll admit. 2. Kane never really got the push I think he deserved, so holding a record like that kind of (but not really) makes up for it in my opinion, lol. But, I also agree with what WK said earlier. Kane hasn't "wrestled" in a few years now. He should stay with WWE, but not as a competitor, more so as an angle worker. Somebody that makes feuds...well, better. Records are meant to be broken.

I agree... except for Flair's # of titles. I'm not even a huge Flair fan, but that record isn't about Flair... it's about a benchmark that, once it's broken, will be another dam burst in the wrestling industry that can never be rebuilt. Having someone as ultimately inconsequential as John Cena be the guy to break it is a terrible idea.

Face it, the only problem people have with the breaking of the record is that it'll probably be Cena breaking it. No one would have batted an eyelid if it was someone like the Rock or Punk.

That's not even remotely true. I would have been pissed if it were Punk. Punk is a good performer, but he's no Ric Flair. The Rock might have been worthy if he'd stayed with the business instead of running off to do movies in his prime, but as it stands, I couldn't back him either. I honestly can't think of anyone who has that kind of status, except Hulk Hogan.
