17th highest grossing film of all time. For hipsters. Right I don't know why I keep having to explain this to you. Hipsters are mainstream. They're into all kinds of things that are mainstream. They love Starbucks and those stupid little hats. They shop at thrift stores and wear vintage t-shirts and tennis shoes. Everything about them is mainstream, but they love to claim that they're not about those things. They're every generation of young people that preceded them, but with a different name. That's all. The fact that the movie made money is meaningless. The fact that they can drone on about Ledger's supposedly (but actually not) nuanced performance of the character is a big deal. Fuckin Hipsters... Can somebody kill 'em?? |
