I don't think Undertaker has ever been been mentioned outside of talking about his Mania matches, since Mania LOL (Which, believe me, is fine by me) He hasn't been, and it's ridiculous. If he's literally only ever going to show up one night a year for one single match, just retire already. Nonetheless, I included him because he fits my criteria- guys who were considered major players and put in big money matches ten years ago, and who will apparently continue to be booked in such matches for the rest of their lives.

Cena, Orton, Batista, Lesnar, Big Show, The Rock and Taker are guys that were pushed hard back then and still still in big matches now. The Rock hasn't been around for an entire year and isn't expected back for at least another year or more. Cena & Orton are still putting on great matches. Big Show is meh, And has been talking about retirement for a good year or more Lesnar isn't a permanent fixture as I said, He has about 4 matches a year. Taker has one "big" match a year.... One. He's still pushed as one of this era's top stars. They're still pushed as two of this era's top stars. He's still pushed as one of this era's top stars. He's still pushed as one of this era's top stars. He's still pushed as one of this era's top stars. He's still pushed as one of this era's top stars.

... because every single time he stepped into the ring it was visibly obvious that he was only half-trained(?) Because being big and strong is never enough to get me excited(?) Because the WWE pushed him to the heavens and tried to tell me outright lies about his "speed" and "agility" that I could see just by watching weren't so(?) There was nothing there to like. He couldn't wrestle, he couldn't cut promos. All he could do was stand there looking like a slightly more mutated version of "Blaster" from Beyond Thunderdone, and soak up the adulation of the fans. He's the worst example (so far) of the Goldberg Syndrome. Nothing but a pile of hype and muscles. I admit there were other cool things going on at the time. The CONSTANT drum beat for Lesnar ruined all of them. Yeah, I suppose I can see that viewpoint. I don't know, I wasn't watching when he debuted so I was able to avoid all the hype. I was in a state like the one I'm in right now- buying and playing the Smackdown games but not following the actual product. When I got Shut your Mouth and saw how great the roster was I was even more excited to check out the tv shows (something I'd already done a bit when the nWo came back) and it was actually Lesnar's appearance in the game that first made me interested in him. I thought "Wow, who the hell is this big dude!?" and loved his moveset so it caused me to seek him out on the show. Until I heard him speak I thought he was awesome. This was in late 2002, and by 2003 I was watching the shows more or less regularly for the first time in roughly 8 years. It was my wrestling renaissance, and though Lesnar wasn't directly responsible he played a part in getting me back into things. If for no other reason I'm always going to have a soft spot for the guy for that. (PS: I showed my 20 year old cousin, who has only a passing familiarity with wrestling, the Shut Your Mouth game around this same time. He was making some gently mocking comments about each character that popped onto the screen during the game's video intro. He seemed amused with himself and rightfully so but when Lesnar appeared he was visibly startled, stammered a bit, and uttered- in a deep, horror movie monster voice- "MEEEEEEEAT MAN!!!!!!") I loved, LOVED Lesnar then, I was 10 years old sat down every Saturday morning at 10am with my bowl of Coco Pops to watch the biggest dude I'd seen in my life & Another big ol' tatted up guy on a bike with a broken hand beat the crap out of each other, Or watch some crazy ass mexican guy with a bouncing car cheat comedically to win OR Watch some white guy in jorts and what ever sports shirt matched the city he was in rapping some sometimes funny raps about his opponent..... Long story short, I have rather a lot of fond memories about the WWE back then

I liked Booker T and Ken Kennedy and I LOVED the Boogeyman (terrible wrestler, adored the character) but for the most part I was done by 06. For me 02-06 represents the last time I seriously considered myself a WWE fan, the first time since about 1994. There was still a lot of crap in it then just as there is now and in the era that I grew up in, but that was the last time that I liked a lot more than I disliked.
.....Is Coco Pops an thing or did you mean Coco Puffs? Because if there's a chocolate-based cereal that I somehow missed, I want to know about it.

Big Show is mainly pushed as veteran to the sport rather that of this era. Lesnar is only pushed as one of the top of this era for four or fives months out the year. Taker is pushed as a legend and as on of WM's top stars, He hasn't been pushed as a star of this era in about 6 years.

Da hell is wrong with you, lol Good times, friday evening 5-7 Raw, then Saturday morning 10-12 Smackdown, then TNA in the evening ( when they were actually decent)

I started watching wrestling in 2004 and it's still my favorite year, though I only watched Raw, Velocity, and Heat. I didn't get UPN so I couldn't watch Smackdown. I've watched a lot of wrestling now and I tend to like 2002-2006 the best.

Just imagine that it's what I did and we'll call this one done.

I was (unfortunately, really) much more "plugged in" back then. Even today, I hear about a lot of things before they get to be "public information", though most of them are out of the bag on the internet already. I was hearing about Lesnar long before they started hyping him on TV. Sadly, I didn't realize just how fast they were going to wrap him in gold he hadn't earned. Even Goldberg had a midcard title before being given the BGB.

FYI, The Rock is the #3 best selling WWE figure over the last two years, despite having had fewer figures than several other guys.
Number. $#@!ing. 3. Clearly there's still a lot of love for the guy. For some reason.

There's dudes that still dress as Hulk Hogan when they go to RAW. Anyone who's ever been on top in the company essentially stays there permanently, unless you are Chris Benoit. Dressing like Hogan is a cultural meme for the "wrestling fan" community. It's not the same as ongoing marketability. Hogan didn't do anything for TNA's marketability, and his TNA figures didn't sell well at all. Nobody cared. Rock isn't just remembered... he's still marketable, which makes him superior in some respects to Hogan, Warrior, Lesnar, and I predict, Batista.
