"Greatest PPV Matches" sounds awful. No matter how good a match is, I rarely enjoy them devoid of all context.

Yeah the fact that the words "WCW", "Greatest" & "Matches" are in the title together automatically makes the DVD 90% awful

“Greatest Wrestling Factions” DVD in the works at WWE for this year.

The scheduled release date is Tuesday, May 27th on both DVD and Blu-ray formats.

In a WWE.com video countdown the company named the top 10 factions as Evolution, nWo, The Corporation, D-Generation X, The Four Horsemen, The Dangerous Alliance, Ministry of Darkness, The Nation of Domination, The Heenan Family, and The Hart Foundation.

Also Some of these were announced weeks ago, I have no idea what upcoming DVD's the people of the forum know about so.

My problem with all WWE DVDs is the same. The WWE. Their need to keep everything kayfabe drives me nuts.

Oddly, they had no problem breaking kayfabe on those legends roundtable shows (though I understand that they were specifically instructed to never refer to Undertaker by his real name)

Update on the "Wrestling’s Greatest Factions" DVD, The working title has been announced as “WWE Presents… Wrestling’s Greatest Factions“ and is scheduled for release on both DVD and Blu-ray formats on May 27th.

The Official Synopsis is as follows

For decades, Superstars have sought allies and banded together for strength in numbers. From the Four Horsemen to the n.W.o, DX, The Nexus, The Shield, and everyone in between, factions are as woven into the fabric of sports-entertainment as the rules they tend to ignore. Now, WWE celebrates the biggest, baddest and coolest factions in history.

From those who influenced generations of Superstars to those who just ran roughshod over the competition, this 3-disc DVD/2-disc Blu-ray presents a brief history of the top factions from all eras and collects several of the greatest matches and moments that made each one a household name. Also featuring The Fabulous Freebirds, The Nation of Domination, Evolution, The Heenan Family, Straight Edge Society and much more!

I was about to ask "But, What's wrong with SES?".... Then I realized I the only thing I remember about them Is CM Punks Beard.... LOL

SES was a stupid idea. In Punk's own words, his "mission" was to offend people by calling himself a "savior" and comparing himself to Jesus.

As clever as he might think he is, offending people is rarely good marketing. People seem to think that the success of DX and Stone Cold was all about how "offensive" they were, but they obviously didn't pay attention to the fact that little kids were running around crotch-chopping and wearing Stone Cold shirts. It's safe to say that nobody who actually watched wrestling was offended, and if they had been, WWE would have let off on the throttle some.

Blaming his stablemates is kind of silly. All three of them are capable performers (not great, not even good, but fully capable), and it's not like they were going to give an up-jumped midcarder any real stars to serve as his subordinates.

... which leads me to one of the reasons that SES wasn't a "great" stable at all. It only had one prominent member.
