What if Orton loses to every chamber opponent leading up to the Chamber?

WWE "built" Orton up to winning the unified titles by making him look like a bitch, so why not build EC the same way?

WWE "built" Orton up to winning the unified titles by making him look like a b****, so why not build EC the same way? he's the heel champion. selling tickets based on the hope of seeing him get his ass kicked is wrestling promotion 101..

Sorry, I strongly disagree. The reason all of the great heels in history were effective was because they avoided getting their asses kicked on a weekly basis.

The reason all of the great heels in history were effective was because they avoided getting their asses kicked on a weekly basis. avoiding an ass kicking drives home the notion of a weak heel champion as much as actually getting their ass kicked. how many times would we see either Flair, Bockwinkel (sp name always threw me), of nWo Hogan beg off, or even at times actually get worked over a bit?

I disagree with your first point. Running away to fight when it's more advantageous for them is what chickenshit heels do. It makes them look weak, but also clever, and doesn't do nearly as much damage as an outright beatdown does in terms of establishing that they're physically incapable. On top of that, there is no way on earth you would have ever seen Flair or Hogan getting beaten down or even running away on a weekly basis, and in the "TV & PPV" eras, a heel Champion typically goes into the PPV strong. Bockwinkle is a completely different animal. He worked in an era that wasn't remotely comparable to now, and would never, ever, have been beaten down and slapped around on TV immediately prior to going into a big match.

Here's the problem with that line of thought Muta. The Heel looks beatable, and as a viewer I'm not really that invested in seeing a heel that everyone seems to be able to take down lose. What can be done is having him win, or cheat to win. Thus making his heat greater because the guy keeps winning and by god he'll be locked in a chamber, no escapes, no cheating, and it's a fair fight. My Face will finally get the chance to get his revenge and win the belt.

Nobody really cheers for faces anymore (Yes, I know, Bryan... but you'd have to admit that he's a pretty rare phenomenon these days), and part of the reason is that the heels just aren't dastardly enough to let the faces seem heroic.

Like a lot of things, I blame the Attitude Era. If they aren't an alcoholic, ya can't cheer for 'em!

Oh I agree, but wouldn't the face get some pops and the heel get some heat if he cheated or won more than he loss? Making the heel losing being a bigger deal than what they do these days.

I agree with your theory entirely. For me, it was really odd to have Orton get beat down the RAW before the title unification match, and then win the match cleanly. It didn't make any sense.

What if Orton loses to every chamber opponent leading up to the Chamber? i think that's exactly what is going to happen. i don't see Randy losing at EC though Well Orton just beat Christian on SD, so that idea is out the window. My theory now is Orton will fall to Bryan (already happened) and Cena, then proceeded to beat everybody else. He will then drop the belt to Bryan who'll win the chamber match.

I think he will beat Cesaro but lose to Cena and Sheamus
