There was no "backlash." Nobody cared. The media tried to make it a big deal because some random blogger or other nutjob said something somewhere... but the VAST majority of the public, well in excess of 99%, never cared, and never would have known if the media hadn't tried so hard to make it a thing. There was backlash on the Youtube video for that commercial. Apparently there were so many racist comments that they had to disable them altogether. Okay, so lets say there were 150,000 "racist" comments (which, I assure you, is a very generous assumption). There are 300 million American adults. You do the math. Nobody cared.

It's insignificant backlash from a fair amount of idiots. Still inheritely a form of backlash 150,000 (again, far more than there actually was, I assure you) is not "a fair amount." There are ALWAYS going to be vocal cranks in a free society... that does not suggest any relevant backlash. In this case (as is often the case), the media was stirring something up to have something to talk about.

It's the effect of the unprofessional, amateur look Youtube has. It causes people to realize that they don't have to put as much brain power into the arguments, and can instead merely say generic stuff. Just kidding, it's more so a result of the community of Youtube.

Believe it or not I've said worse things to people in the real world than online.(Despite my social awkwardness and lack of confidence) I'm sure Muta will dispute that though...

Killing someone over a video game is pretty messed up, no matter how obnoxious the kid

there is a difference between cyber bullying and simply being a s***heel.. That still doesn't discount the first part of my post with the kid and the man who tracked down the kid and strangled him... Although that man deserves to rot in prison for a long time.

Not sure how it made an ass out of you, but it sure worked on me 8) Either way, I've never inflicted violence on anything alive because of a video game. I'd like to think that's a fair standard to hold others to as well.
