I never liked the character, so it would be impossible to ruin it for me... but after seeing otherwise intelligent human beings that I respect in utter denial claiming that 'Taker's last few 'Mania matches were good, I've come to believe that people will never see the truth no matter what. 30 years from now WWE will be rolling the mummified corpse of Mark Callaway out to the ring to no-sell moves from the latest stars until someone throws it on top of them so it can pin them, and fans will still walk away saying "that mans a legend. Did you see the way he took those chair shots?"

Was his match with Shawn Michaels not good? I'd agree that it is very easy to stand there and take fake punches, but I'm sure his work has done SOME good for the company? He definantly sells WrestleMania tickets
Granted his success is due to a character that WWE created... But he makes that character look convincing...

His HBK matches are, as far as I'm concerned, where it started to get ridiculous. They were both pretty sad matches, highlighting how far both men had fallen since their prime. Fans just can't let go. They'd rather watch a couple of broken down hags stumble around the track chasing a rotten carrot than invest emotionally in younger horses that can actually still run.
I'm not convinced that 'Taker's matches are helping anymore at this point. I don't know how I'd prove it, but I'd be perfectly willing to bet that if Undertaker had no announced match for 'Mania, ticket sales wouldn't dip one bit. Most Undertaker fans at this point are guys who aren't even watching the modern product, WWE has very little to lose by putting the old mare out to pasture.
I'm absolutely certain, by contrast, that his continued presence and the pushing of his "legend" is hurting WWE's long term prospects of creating and sustaining new fans. If I'd just started watching wrestling in the last 2 to 3 years, and I noticed that some has been who can barely run anymore was getting matches at the big yearly show while the guys I actually enjoyed watching on TV week after week were nowhere to be seen, I'd ask myself two questions. 1) Why should I spend my money to watch some guy that I have no investment in rather than the guys I actually care about?
and
2) Why doesn't the company care more about what I want to see?

I've only been watching for 2 years approximately. But I'm not very perceptive... I used to think that Khali was cool lol

He was a huge unstoppable monster who took the Undertaker out without much effort. WWE needed something like that. The problem is that the guy can barely move, much less wrestle. In a way he's a lot like Bray Wyatt... the concept could have been awesome if it had been paired with a capable worker.

I didn't know that there was another incoming Indian giant... Yeah... He claims to have been inspired by Khali, & Says watching Khali live in India 2 years ago made him want to become a wrestler. He's 7 Foot something (2 I think) as well. .................. No Seriously.

Who knows? Maybe (unlike Khali) the guy will actually be able to take 5 steps in the ring or something. The notion of anyone being "inspired by Khali" is bizarre to me, but who knows?
... if the new guy stalks Khali and kisses him, I'll love it.

It would be less embarrassing to me as a fan than the Mickie/Trish feud was...

No, just no. I meant a follower that won't leave Khali alone so Khali snaps & turns heel.

I don't see how Khali could pull that kind of storyline off. He can't even speak.

I'm not saying I would find it sexy or anything, but I do want to see it. I think it would be well worth how uncomfortable it made people. Likely, the same people who giggled like school girls and thought it was the greatest thing ever when Mickie and Trish kissed. Exposing double standards always makes me happy.

I don't see how Khali could pull that kind of storyline off. He can't even speak. He yells some random Indian phrase and the other guy shows a hurt expression on his face. The announcers then say that they think Khali just yelled something insulting.

The best way to turn Khali into a heel is to give him around 15 minutes on the mic and allow him to drop a master "pipe-bomb" that would make CM Punk jealous. *Honk*
