ok, re-watched. how on earth did you give round 2 to Mousasi? a sweep into top position (that he did nothing with) in the final 90 seconds or so, doesn't win a round. round 4 maybe for Gegard, if you're looking for a round to give him, i still hold that Lyoto won it (should have been a point deduction for that up kick btw, it was an intentional foul). as far as the commentary...Machida was pushing the pace (when he wanted to), Lyoto was controlling the distance..Machida made the fight..he was the one who was engaging. if Mousasi did nothing to really talk about, why would they talk about him?
i love brazilian crowds, they set such a great atmosphere..

I don't want to bet anything though. I think that Machida is taking this guy out. I believe speed is on Machida side, and with his technique knockout percentage, probably will get the win within the 1st or 2 round. i'm thinking later than that, 3 or later. Mousasi has a granite chin, Lyoto will have to chip away at him. Turns out to not be the case at all (knockout). A granite chin indeed. But i was right about the speed and his technique. But really, overall, it was his speed. |

But really, overall, it was his speed. even the best of chins can't stand up to that one perfect shot. we all have that button, when it gets hit just right the lights go out. and it was his technique. very few fighters use karate the way Lyoto does in mma, so getting a sparring partner to mimic that style and movement isn't easy. |
