... why does he even bother coming back anymore? Money? Enjoys performing? Hell if I know... At this rate eventually he won't be able to come back at all.

when a guy who's 5'6" with a build designed for 130 lbs packs on 190 lbs of muscle, something is going to give.

The worst part is, I'm not even sure if Rey wants to keep coming back, or if WWE just keeps luring him back in. It seems like he's got to know his body is shot...

Why is this news at this point. I feel like Rey's probably wanted to quit for a good amount of years know but WWE keeps convincing him he'll be of use. But unfortunately all the muscle mass had to catch up to him sooner or later . And out of all the guys I've heard use the Not saying Rey has) "I did steroids because I was afraid to lose my job." Excuse When WWE wouldve tried to make him look credible. (Believable a a different story) no matter how much muscle he gained.

Honestly, this is a real shame. It's coming right after Rey suffered a complete loss of my interest.

Well technically no, quite a few years after, but the joke works better this way.

I was curious, because I lost interest in Rey Mysterio around the time he came to work for WWE 8)

I stopped having interest for Rey in 2009. I only started watching him in '06, so yeah....

I was cool with Rey in the WWE for those first few years, I thought that he still retained some of the magic that he had shown in WCW. I think I first realized that I was tired of him around the time WWE had him suddenly gain 50 pounds of body mass to become the "heavyweight champion". You know, right around that time when Eddie died and they said 'Quick, find another Mexican to capitalize on this".

Rey put on a bunch of weight between the end of WCW and his WWE debut. He was bulky and ridiculous looking when he first showed up. Rey, circa 1996 Rey around the time of his WWE debut

I'm a Rey fan & I love watching him... But returning all the time is just not good for him at this point, He's going to get crippled on of these days.

I really need a Rey fan to explain to me how they can watch him wrestle guys the size of Cena and Ryback and not immediately have the illusion that they're watching an actual fight shattered all to pieces. When he was working the cruiserweight division, it was fine... but as soon as WCW moved him to the real roster and started expecting me to believe that The Giant wouldn't just swat him like a fly... yeah, any "magic" was gone.

I liked Rey for quite awhile in his prime he was fun to watch, but I always hated the Kevin Nash stuff where he's fighting the big behemoths. Then again I didn't find Punk fighting Batista when he first won his World Heavyweight championship believable, nor did the WWE as Punk got count out wins.
I digress, rey you way over-achieved and likely made the most money a guy of his size could ever dream of; time to hang it up.

I don't know, maybe it's a generational thing... when I watch wrestling, it's important to me that the illusion of an actual fight remain intact. It seems like a lot of these high flyers inherently break that illusion, but younger fans don't seem to care at all. They can watch a guy run up the turnbuckle, then look back and wait for his opponent to position himself before executing a move, and it doesn't bother them at all. To me, that's no different than if Cena had dudes hopping up onto his shoulders for him so that he could deliver the AA.
