Mine......mixture of 3 things, top being the main reason I chose, bottom being the least.
1. Darth Bane (Favorite Star Wars character)
2. Bane (Favorite DC character)
3. The Destroyer (Based on the Marvel Character "Destroyer." I just like the way he looks)

Pretty sure I've explained this one before, but a looooong time ago I was in a Star Wars RPG where the entire group played fighter pilots, and we each had a call sign. My character was a cocky kid who had been kicked out of the Imperial Naval Academy, and in order to thumb his nose at the Empire he chose to incorporate "Knight" (as in "Jedi Knight" even though he was not one) into his Call Sign. The innuendo was obvious from there, and I've been using it ever since.

8- As in 8-Ball. I wish I had a username had a backstory. It would probably be this:
AliceDunksMoreCompetes.
Alice- My late mother's first name.
Dunks- Her Maiden Name was Duncan and D is my middle initial.
More- My family's last name is Moore.
Competes- My father's middle name is Peter.
Or: AnE
A- My dad's first name is Austin.
E- My late mother's middle name is Elizabeth.

I lost a bet.
My dad made my account for me.
I'm very sensitive.
Bane changed it as punishment for being so much more awesome than he is.
I was traumatized by a biker gang when I was three and swore to never embrace manliness.
In truth, when we got transferred to the third(?) forum, we were given the option to change our names at any given time with no limitations. Needless to say, it got pretty confusing.
Eventually, somebody made a thread asking us to post our alternate identities so there wouldn't be so much confusion.
Being me, I threw down a combination of words that would sound funny together. Mike really liked it, and who was I to deny anyone the chance of a chuckle at my expense? That's what I live for, darnit!
Being the oddball that I am, I changed my username to PinkSparklePuff shortly thereafter. It's a win win win because it's hilarious, confuses people as to what my gender is, and keeps them from taking my sarcasm literally. Mostly. Kind of. Not really.

The origin of my username...
Well you see, once upon a time I was desperately in search of an email address. I searched far and wide in hopes of finding one that I could stick with throughout life without being made fun of(Now I only get weird looks when I tell people my username/email). So then I decided to journey out of my house and I climbed to the top of Mount Olympus, in hopes of asking Athena for an answer. Unfortunately it turned out that she didn't exist, so I looked further, searching out for anything that could give me an answer. My journey led me to Egypt in search of The Sphinx(which didn't exist), then almost to the Undying Lands in search of Gandalf(Unfortunately I couldn't get there despite my many attempts), and finally I found myself back at my computer. I then decided to go on an MMO and look for a suggested username. That is how I ended up with this name.
