I hate time travel paradoxes.

I learned a long time ago not to be concerned about who wins and loses these stupid things. They have to pick SOMEBODY, and inevitably SOMEBODY is going to think they're wrong. The only one that I think they were definitively correct on was Superman vs. Goku. Superman's power is limitless. Goku's power has definite limits.

The only one that I think they were definitively correct on was Superman vs. Goku. Superman's power is limitless. Goku's power has definite limits. The only one I think they were definitely wrong on was Link vs Cloud. Cloud is basically a super soldier with magical powers to back him up. Link was an untrained child. They put the best of all the Links into one, without any of his weaknesses, then put him against a nowhere-near-his-best Cloud. Even then Cloud STILL should have won.

Maybe they were just comparing Link to a Cloud that was having weird emotional flashbacks about being a clone, or dreaming about having sex with Sephiroth, or whatever the fuck Final Fantasy VII was supposed to be about.

Nope. Even if Cloud did those thing he'd still win. Cloud beat Sephiroth, a guy who destroyed the entire solar system. If you honestly think Link stands even a bit of a chance against someone who killed the above guy, then you must be stuck in lala-land. Cloud can summon giant meteors, speed himself up and slow others down, can fully heal himself with a single spell, and many, many more devastating spells. Let's not even count the fact that he holds a sword the size of his body and can swing that sucker around as if it was made of aluminum.

Yeah I didn't look at their comparison so I really don't know what excuse they gave for Link winning. Cloud has superior abilities, I'm just pointing out that he and the game that he came from are goons.

Cloud has superior abilities, I'm just pointing out that he and the game that he came from are goons. I agree with that. I'm a fan of neither series, but it's painfully obvious that Link wouldn't stand a chance. They gave Link the best items from every game he's ever been in, gave him no weaknesses, then removed SEVERAL of Cloud's best abilities.

To be fair Link isn't portrayed as having many weaknesses (other than youth and inexperience). His stories are extremely simple classic archetypes of "plucky underdog hero" versus "vain and underestimating villain". His games are more about exploration and puzzle-solving, not so much demonstrations of might. Cloud's environment, on the other hand, is all about steadily increasing strength and ability in an effort to overthrow fascistic kingdoms and defeat megalomaniacal psycho villains. And also being a whiny emo femme-bitch.

...I'd just like to point out that we can say "cock" but we can't say "bitch". I think Bane needs a good talking to.

On a slightly related note I'm playing the FF14(Or something like that) Beta, and just recently I heard a background song that sounded strangely similar to the one from The Sims.

Lol I enjoy most of the Sims music, it's often intentionally doofy. Doesn't bode very well for FF14. They're on 14 now? Jeez, I quit playing those things half a series ago.
Why is it going to be a while to talk to Bane? He dead?

Also that same song has a part that sounds like several songs from The Lord of the Rings soundtrack mixed up into one.

Undead, really. I think he took a job as a guinea pig in Melbourne. Either way, he won't be around for a while.
He made a thread explaining his upcoming absence, I'll try to dig it up.

He didn't, so.....dead, then? He said he may be gone up to several months. Unknown as to why, probably has to do with family problems that he's mentioned before but never gone into detail about.
