And i can see Cap' 'Murica (as Bane suggested) hitting on Black Widow... I never suggested Cap 'Murrica. I actually said to stop, lol. I believe Soon suggested it though, lol. No. You and soon said that if i want to say it like Cap'n/Cap then i should say America 'Murrica. |

Yep, Cap is much more of a "Sir" and "Ma'am" type than he is a drill sergeant... although in the comics, especially since Civil War, he's not been afraid to slap around another hero (verbally or otherwise) if they step out of line. I kind of like him that way LOL Which is really strange if you think about it. Iron Man and Hulk are on his team. One can't comprehend orders (Well, he can, he's just stupid) and the other can't follow them (at least not all of the time). IMO, Cap & Iron Man being friends never made sense anyway. Captain America is a selfless idealist and Iron Man is a pragmatist with Narcissistic Personality Disorder. I get that Cap likes to see the best in everyone, but I just don't see how those two guys would ever be best buddies. Being on a team is different though. Cap works with people like Iron Man because he needs them to do the job. Iron Man works with people like Cap because he doesn't want to take responsibility and they will. It's a good "working relationship." You don't have to best friends to get along and work together. The guys Cap has traditionally struggled to get along with on a team are the guys who break rules and/or hurt/kill people just because they can, or just because they happen to think it's the easier way to accomplish a goal. He's struggled hard to work with Wolverine and people like him. Losing Civil War, of course, changed Captain America forever. He now realizes that the world is in a slow, inevitable slide toward tyranny or self-destruction, and instead of believing that he can help turn the world around around like he used to, he now simply sees it as his place to be a banner of hope and to "rally the troops" to slow the tide. It's kind of a sad change, but inevitable really when you look at how things have gone in comics. |

Was there a point at which I was unclear about my abject hatred for "whacky" characters in comics? I think I've been pretty transparent on the subject 8)

Shouldn't we have a thread to practice roleplaying as our characters before the actual (trial) game? It seems quite a few people, myself included(Mainly for Banner), could use the practice.

Let's not forget that Howard had a great film and from what I understand, Howard's not meant to be a super hero, just an alien duck that can talk and is really nice to people. Then again, I've never read his comics.
