The mods are much too uptight. It's fine for them to enforce the rules, but the degree that they do it is to the extreme.

What do I think of the new forums? I joined this one, that's what. In other words you love it. I've never been on such a strict forum in my entire life. I've been on the WWE game forums for three years and I have never seen it that strict. Ragging on people because they're discussing something off topic in the off topic section? Closing a thread called "random stuff" less than one day after it's been open because people are trying to understand the moderator policies and then making sure to let everyone know that they're going to debate whether anyone can make a random thread in the future? Scolding Sparkles for "trash talking and role playing in the wrong section" because he said "You guys suck, Super Sparkles away"? Fuuuck that noise. Can we say fuck here? It's clear to me that several of the mods on the new site are decent people. Even the one who gave me a warning (yes, I got a warning, though it was relatively polite and in a non-official capacity) seemed like a reasonable guy. But there are several people there that are either going on mad power trips or are just humorless, authoritative dicks. Can we say dicks here? |

My problem with the forum is it feels like a police state in forum form. (See what I did there?) Now we can't have threads with no topic because god forbid we do something crazy like have random conversations in the random thread.  |

Go ahead and quote me with name included if you so wish. Also make sure you tell them that I wish to be banned. While headkase and Codex are great people, I do not wish to speak with any of the other mods. You might as well quote this post as well.

Yes because that has clearly got us anywhere so far..... Also, I don't care about a situation, but more so saying what I think should be said. I don't care about my infraction, nor do I care if helped a case. We all know that we have problems with the site, I chose to speak of my opinions more aggressively, which I plan on doing again if the problems continue. The fact that you're trying to tell me what I did was wrong when you're trying to do the same thing is strange though. You're the good guy Charles Xavier and I'm the villain Magneto. We have two different ways of doing things, but in the end we're very much alike. It's barely been 24 hours since the site opened. Yeah we have our issues but you being aggressive and ranting and complaining is not going to help change anything. If you actually act like an adult and reason with them then the chances are higher. We are doing the same thing, I did it the right way and you did it the wrong way. They're not gonna give two Sh*ts about someone who can't communicate in a respectable manner. That's the truth. When cole1114 started a revolution on THQ he wasn't doing it in a respectable manner so Aubrey treated him like a child and didn't seem to care about what the issues were. We all know the rules are outrageous. But the way you go about it is just going to get you in trouble. Did you not realize that was EXACTLY what I was trying to do?......I stated it on multiple occasions. |

It's ridiculous, and this is coming from someone who used to moderate the damn place. THQ was a nightmarish mess at times but at least when it was working well it was a lot of fun and the mods generally didn't give people too much of a hard time. On the 2K forums the censor filter was ridiculous (quick filter check: rape raped boob boobs slut whore pimp raccoon nude nudity naked gay) but at least we knew the mods and they didn't go power mad, with the exception of one or two 2K guys who generally kept to themselves.
The new site though? Holy shit in a chicken basket. They're reading every post in every thread just looking for an opportunity to scold people. It really is like a police state. I'm the most sickeningly friendly guy on the forum and I could feel the tension as I tapped out each post, wondering whether one of the dozens of mods (and yes, there really are dozens) were going to find something to take issue with.
Last night was stressful and it sucked seeing everybody getting warnings for breathing improperly, but I talked to one of the mods and understood where he was coming from: They're just trying to do their job, it's nothing personal, they're just trying to be upfront with the rules so everyone immediately understands them, they've had issues with people pushing the envelope in the past, etc. Having been a moderator I can vouch for everything he said and it was perfectly fair. But then I come back on today and I see the same mods that were being dicks yesterday finding new ways to be dicks today and it's like you know what? I already need a break.
