I'm sure what Hogan says is more or less true, but it's also true that "brother" was just a thing that people said a lot back in the late '70's.

I've unfortunately took to calling people 'brother'. But when I say it, it sounds very awkward and as if I'm actually saying they are my brother.

I don't call anyone brother, I don't know anyone that calls anyone else brother. I'm trying to figure out how a British person would say "brother". Nope. I can't.

I'm sure what Hogan says is more or less true, but it's also true that "brother" was just a thing that people said a lot back in the late '70's. Yeah, this. Basically just habit, in other words. You know what term I was happy to see Hogan drop? Being turned on. I grew up understanding the term to mean "sexual excitement". I guess I don't remember it meaning anything else as a tiny kid but in the early 80s Hogan would cut raging interviews where he went on about being "turned on" by beating someone up and hearing the crowd and working with Mr. T and whatever else.

No, I'm pretty sure you and he were thinking of the exact same meaning 8) In a similar vein... some of my relatives used to use the term "stoned" to mean drunk and it always threw me off.
