Ah the laugh track, the time honored annoying sitcom staple. But I think I've come to the conclusion that the dislike I have for a lot of shows even though I find some aspects of them funny, is that there's a freaking staged laugh at every poorly written blatant usually sexual referencing attempt at a joke.
But thinking of watching a sitcom without a laugh track in my mind is as awkward and alien as watching Raw without annoying commentary
For me the laugh track is a symbol of what makes most sitcoms annoying, and only serve as a reminder of what make shows like Seinfield , the Big Bang theory, two and a half men, friends etc. more annoying than funny.
So not that this thread needed to be made but does anybody have any opinions on laugh tracks

Laugh tracks are a bane of existence. If you need a hint to know that you should laugh at something, then the joke probably isn't that funny.
I love the show Nanny, but dammit it ruins it for me everytime I here one of those shit laughs, even after an actually good joke.

The only sitcom I ever really watched, besides George Lopez. But I'm not proud for watching George Lopez...

I watched Lopez and found a good portion of it funny, sure George's subject matter revolved around one thing (as does most comedians) but to me he usually delivered in a humorous if not chuckle worthy way. I also watched Fresh prince and my wife & kids

I don't know it never bothered me for the most part. Sometimes it's gets annoying but I usually don't even really notice it.

the crappier the show, the more likely the laugh track (minus Seinfeld of course)..

I watched one episode of Seinfeld. It was unbearably boring and incredibly idiotic, and I'm used to watching crappy sitcoms...

I've never gotten the supposed brilliance of Jerry's observational humor. Although I do find him to have a decent amount of insight into how to become a good standup. But the shows ridiculously overrated.

I've never really liked Seinfield but to be honest I've never given it much of a chance either. I'm a sitcom guy though. Some suck but others are pretty good.

By the way, I don't hate laugh tracks. I don't mind them at all in fact.
I do however hate the cheer they have whenever there's a guest star.
