N-no but I played it for the good story and character development! I'm serious! (I actually am, if I wanted that sort of thing there's easier ways.) I only played through about one or two routes. Dating sims aren't really my thing I'm with ya there, they aren't my sort of thing either. I only cared about 2 of the routes too.

I seriously don't understand how that crap even exists without skeeving you guys out, much less that you would acknowledge knowing about it. You mean Katawa Shoujo? If you do, it's really not as bad as everyone thinks it is. The "lewd" stuff in it is mostly in there for story or even humour. Anyway, I randomly stumbled upon it when I was on 4chan's pokemon board in the lead up to X and Y being released. Somebody must've said something about it, i researched, found out people said it was actually a really nice story that gave them feels, played it and I found I really was interested in the characters. It's easy to dismiss that sort of thing as smut but there is thought put into it. Your first mistake was 4chan

I played several Japanese dating sims on Newgrounds.com one time. They actually are pretty fun. ...Isn't most of that stuff just porn? Uh... I... well...

I don't have a problem with fetishes in general. I do have a problem with games that exist to dehumanize the dating process Just dehumanizing everything else then?

Dating sims taught me that all I have to do is throw jewelry at women and they'll have sex with me.
Or was that Dragon Age: Origins...
*Shrugs*

I would argue that there is significantly more evidence to suggest that video games have a dehumanizing effect on the social aspects of the personality than there is to suggest that video games have a desensitizing effect toward violence.

Or was that Dragon Age: Origins... *Shrugs* Actually in DA:O your gifts have to be somewhat thoughtful. Unless you just cheat and read online, you have to figure out from their dialogue what things to give them for the most effect. ... yes, it's still essentially "give me stuff and I will sleep with you" but to be fair, that's not totally unrealistic 8)

Moving on, is anyone here a Dark Souls fan? More specifically Dark Souls II? Because I can't get past those arsey mages outside the fog gate in Shrine of Amana and I seriously think I'm getting a rash form the stress. I need help...

You don't throw stuff at women in The Witcher, the women just throw themselves at you. Geralt seems to have that effect.
