Golden Age Superman was a massive dick, and Silver Age Superman was kind of a "dick because they thought it was funny at the time" In modern times, only Frank Miller has ever really written Superman as a hardcore jerkass... and really, $#@! Frank Miller 8)

Frank Miller, for whatever reason, seems to think that the only possible definition of a "strong woman" is one with histrionic personality disorder.
... to be fair, most of his male characters are just as crazy, just not in as overtly sexual ways.
