Mark Wahlberg has more acting ability in his right thumb than Shia Labeouf and Megan Fox do in their whole bodies.

Oh, I'm surprised my parents haven't wanted to go see it yet. The three of us have seen all of the other Michael Bay Transformers in theatres, and we don't go to the theater very often. If you can just turn off your brain and enjoy an action film, you'll probably have a good time. It was very "Michael Bay" (except that I can honestly say for the first time in the entire series... I always knew who was fighting who, since the fight scenes weren't all blurry ad high-speed) in most regards. People are going to pan me for saying this, but I really liked Wahlberg's character. IMO he's the best human in the series to date (which is not saying much, I realize). I find it easy to enjoy any movie in theaters (as long as said movie doesn't make me uncomfortable sitting next to my parents, IE: Neighbors) My parents aren't exactly critical either. They'd probably have a hard time understanding what is wrong with Avatar.

It's been years since I gave a shit about Transformers, so I'm probably wrong here. Last I remember, Drift was a character from the later run of Optimus in Generation 1. Around the same time they introduced Transformers with three forms, but before the movie where Optimus bit the dust. His thing was that he was "Hip" and "Jive," yo, because apparently that didn't work for Jazz. His alternate form was a sports car, that could also pull out wings. Yep. Also, he wasn't Japanese. I believe you are referring to the correct character. He is also a "triple changer" in the movie, with a car mode and a helicopter mode. ... anybody remember in 2 when Optimus had to join with Jetfire so that he could fly to the top of the pyramid and save the day? Turns out that Jetfire sacrificed himself for nothing, because Optimus could fly all along. Really well in fact, because he can fly out of earth's atmosphere and into space at will. How many times might that have been useful in the first 3 movies? I guess he just forgot he could do that.

Avatar outright sucked, there wasn't a single part of it I liked. I definitely don't see why everyone lost their goddamn minds over it.

If I had to live in those movies, I would too.

Jetfire's cane turned into a battle axe. Single best part of the entire movie.

Jetfire was going to die anyways. Skorponox (however you spell that) did a good number on him.

Also, at first I thought Wild was referring to Generation 2. Most people would even know Generation 2 existed. I used to be such a Transformers nerd.

No, it was American or English. The most significant thing I remember about it was that it constantly killed off random characters, and that it sucked.

In my boston accent "I think I found a transformer" . It's shame Shia is such a dick now. He was great in a guide to recognizing your saints. Him and Chaz palmentire had fantastic father son scene

Generation 2 had a blue Grimlock. Blue. So. Lame.
... actually the original Transformers run had a lot of lameness well, and killed off a fairly significant number of characters itself. When at one point Ratbat was running the Decepticons, you know the attrition rate has been astronomical. Rat$#@!ingbat.

Wahlberg is far from the talentless clod who only ever plays "tough guys" that Joey makes him out to be, just like Shia is far from the no-talent clown that Mike makes him out to be. Shia is the more directly talented, but Wahlberg has stronger "leading man" credentials. *shrugs*
