BTW, I can't even believe that I really have to point out that anything where you can be competitive by staying up all night drinking red bull and eating three day old pizza is not a sport.
Don't get me wrong, I think competitive gaming is kind of cool. I enjoy watching it from time to time (can't imagine ever watching League of Legends though... ), but there's a lot of space between "competition for entertainment's sake" and "a sport."

I think it really depends on your definition.
Under the definitions I go by, Poker and Gaming is a sport. Do I think they should be? Nope, but I kind of agree with the definition and they both fit under the category.
1.) An active pastime; diversion; recreation.
2.) A specific diversion, usually involving physical exercise and having a set form and body of rules; a game.

I just wanted some opinions on the matter. It takes endurance, intelligence, and skill to do what those guys do. Is it a sport? I'm on the fence about that. As WK said there isn't really any physical aspect to it. Beyond of course sitting in a chair. My thought was if Chess was considered a sport than perhaps gaming would also be in the runnings for consideration.
