I don't get the beef with him losing to Jericho for the opening match of their feud.. Of course you don't. You like to rubber stamp approval of every stupid thing the WWE does. Not generally, no. If it's stupid, I call them on it. If it isn't stupid and makes sense then I'm not going to. Real simple son.

That's pretty simple to me.

A match that would have just completely destroyed the feud before it began if he'd have lost it. Wyatt will come back tonight and do his heel thing and there will be another few matches. You and I both know this.

i don't think either guy going over "ruins" the feud. it can still have juice after last night.
the first time kane and taker worked an actual match taker went over, and that feud didn't lose any steam, then again kane looked very strong in that one...

You and I both know this. Going over in any match, ever, period. ... rather than quoting muta's response in a separate post, I'll just note; the Undertaker/Kane feud was completely different. Undertaker was ALSO a monster at that time; it was an established monster vs. an up-and-coming monster. Jericho is not only not a monster, he's a washed-up has been who hasn't mattered in years and is covered in ring rust.

He's also a major star who appears to put people over. Wyatt will go over by the end of the feud and we all know this.
I don't know why we need to discuss it in absolute terms after the opening match of a feud. Would it not be better to figure out how it went after the fact?

He's also a major star who appears to put people over. ... if you think that's what happened last night, you have some really strange ideas about what "putting over" looks like. A guy doesn't have to win to be put over, but he does have to look like a credible threat, not a rookie getting smacked around by a guy who hasn't had a match in months.

The only way I see it making sense is if Creative is trying to make the Wyatts a "power in numbers" type group. Weak alone, but powerful when they're in a team.
And that doesn't make sense because of Harper and Rowan losing constantly.

Hardly getting smacked around really. Besides, as I said - you have to take the feud as a whole, when it's done and dusted. A one off match doesn't tell you much. It's like reading a random page in a book and then going "Nah, this sucks"

The reality is this; Wyatt is dead. If they ever intended to push him, that time is long since over. We're expected to take him seriously but they're not interested in giving us any reason to do so.
WWE is failing at a rapid rate. It's amazing that they can't figure out why.

TNA couldn't book it's way out of a wet paper bag and makes a constant practice of using the WWE's throw-aways as their Main Event talent. RoH has been under the dubious "leadership" of Jim "I've got a great reputation despite being pretty clearly terrible at every aspect of this business" Cornette... TWICE. CHIKARA thinks wrestling audiences want anime storylines about invasions of ants from space. If there were anything like a WCW right now, the WWE would be on it's knees.

I'm sure wrestling will pick up again soon, hasn't WWE had a stint like this before almost exactly 20 years ago?
