Oh yeah I heard about that Old Boy remake. I watched the actual Japanese version a few days ago.

What is Wilder's opinion of Lil' Wayne? lol I have no idea who he is, really. Lil' Wayne is basically a combination of the worst possible things about every era without a single one of their good points.

By era.. do you mean music era or people era? Music eras. Oh, well in that case, there is NOTHING wrong with the Rock N' Roll era. And NOTHING about Lil Wayne Gretzky represents the rolling of the rocks.

Spike Lee is talented, IMO, but yeah... EVERYTHING is about race with Lee, and he's clearly very angry.
Regardless, I want to see Old Boy. It was bound to be hated because the original is such a beloved classic, but whether it's a bad movie or not, I couldn't say without watching it.

Drugs and sex always have been and always will be part of music, because music is by and large the art form of choice for those that see themselves as outspoken rebels... and as the hippy movement proves, nothing goes hand-in-hand with rebellion like an overly and thoroughly selfish worldview (which in turn goes hand-in-hand with drug use and sexual promiscuity).
I could get upset about it, but really... the drugs and sex keep these people harmless, which is how I like them.

*sighs at yet another braindead celebrity wearing crosses* I really hate that. He is far from deserving of those crosses. I'm not really trying to judge how "deserving" he might be (none of us deserve to wear them)... I just dislike the general failure of our culture to give proper respect to symbols. Symbols become meaningless when they're used out of context. It's actually a lot like my problem with the way we use labels. A lot of people seem to think that if someone wants to be called something, then that word should be used to define them even if it's not particularly apt. If I'm a fat white Christian from the suburbs but insist on saying that I'm a Black Muslim, NOBODY owes it to me to nod their head and go "yep, he's a Black Muslim, because that's what he wants to be called." It doesn't work that way... yet we allow this kind of inappropriate self-labeling in so many other aspects of our culture. All of it contributes to a massive inability to communicate, which frustrates me to no end.

Also to note, another example of misusing symbols. I don't see why they feel the need to include the Yin/Yang symbol, which I'm pretty sure represents balance. What about smokin' doobies and havin' orgies is balanced?

What about smokin' doobies and havin' orgies is balanced? There's something to that. They, of course, would insist that "weed = enlightenment" but yeah... it's not exactly a philosophy in keeping with the original intent of the yin-yang.

Ying-yang is the idea that good can't exist without evil, and vice-versa. I don't see where weed and headbands fit in there.
