After my "Top 5 Favorite/Least Favorite Movies" thread, I though I'd ask the question of: What are your Top 5 favorite comedy movies? (Again you may choose a series/trilogy of movies as a single choice & You aren't limited to 5 you may have more if you wish) Here's Mine, In no order (There's 7 in total) - American Pie (Series)
- Happy Gilmore
- Billy Madison
- Zombieland
- Superbad
- Funny People (Dramedy)
- Pineapple Express
Probably some that I'm missing, Most of my DVD collection is made up of comedy movies

I'm not much on comedy movies though I did enjoy Wayne's World as well as Tenacious D and the Pick of Destiny. Oh! and I really like Forrest Gump too.

YES! Sharknado Austin Powers: Goldmember Scary Movie Step Brothers Scream (Suspensedy)
I was actually going to add scream instead of Get him to the greek, but I don't know if it counts because I don't know if it's technically a comedy or not. Get him to the greek was just a filler for me, lol. (although I just thought of something to replace it, so it's off from my list in a few seconds).

And Scary Movie is a parody of Scream. So Scary Movie is the parody of a parody. Interesting little note.

It certainly takes itself seriously... until the black cop gets stabbed in the head, going down with "Fuck Bruce Willis"

There's nothing in it to make it be a parody.

5. Coming To America. Eddie Murphy's best movie. 4. The Hard Way. Basically 90 minutes of James Woods raving about how much of a terrible human being Michael J Fox is. 3. Friday. Because it's hilarious from start to finish. 2. Kung Pow. Shamelessly silly and absurd and hated by the entire mainstream moviegoing public. I loved it. 1. Monty Python and the Holy Grail. Yes, before it was popular with hipsters and no, I don't generally like Monty Python.

Scream is a horror film but it's also a black comedy that's a self-aware send-up of horror cliches. Kind of like "Student Bodies" but a little more subtle. Seriously, if you haven't seen Student Bodies you really should.

In no real order.
Naked Gun - The ever classic series by the late Leslie Nielsen, and boy what a laugh, especially the first 2.
Austin Powers - Another lovable series. It's just whacky, foolish fun and I love it.
Ace Ventura Pet Detective & Nature Calls - These movies by Jim Carry doesn't seem very highly regarded, but I for one love them. I don't think nobody could of played this character the way Carry did. Very comical.
Scary Movie 1, 2, 3 - Ah Scary Movie, the first two was golden comical takes on popular horror movies of the time. It started to tamper off a it with 3, but 3 was still good. The movies now though are just a complete mess, Epic Movie, Disaster Movie, I don't really care for any of those.
Airplane or Hot Shot movies - I'm torn on number 5. I liked Airplane a lot, while I enjoyed Airplane 2, I found it wasn't as good. I think they kinda ran out of idea as it just felt like Airplane 1 rewritten for a space ship. Then the Hot Shot movies, I enjoyed both of these movies. I don't really know which to put as #5.

The first two Naked Gun movies are up there. Anything that can make me laugh at a cold-blooded murderer- even before he finally went to prison, that is- is okay by me.
I go back and forth between which one I like better, they're really neck and neck. The third one was a huge disappointment, I don't know what went wrong.

Third one did have it's moments, thus why I didn't exclude it. However yes, it did feel to lack compared to the first two.
