Too many to choose.
I'd say, in no particular order:
Dodgeball Anchorman Talledega Nights The goods: Live hard, sell hard. Iron Sky.

You know what I hate about Anchorman? It's one of the recent movies that repeat the stupid joke of using the main character's corny name to make the title seem more amusing and whimsical, almost as if they feel that the name itself is hilarious enough to warrant interest. I can't put my finger on it, there's a certain self-indulgent flippancy about it that irks me. Come up with an intriguing or witty title? Nah, just call it "Rock Star: the Tale of Dixon Crestwave".
These are the ones that immediately come to mind though if I dug around I'm sure I'd find more.
Dickie Roberts: Former Child Star Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby Walk hard: The Dewey Cox Story Paul Blart: Mall Cop Bucky Larson: Born to be a Star Drillbit Taylor The Incredible Burt Wonderstone
Of these I've only seen Anchorman. I dunno, I enjoyed the movie. No real complaints there. Just don't like this dumb naming convention.

Before I read your post, I glanced at this and thought you were listing movies that you thought were great comedies. I was about to choke the life out of you. Half of the movies on that list were blatantly $#@!ing terrible. I don't know what it is about Steve Carrell, he was entertaining on The Office when I wasn't so embarrassed by his existence that I had to change the channel, but when he's the lead in a movie, it's guaranteed to suck. Hard. I LOVED Get Smart as a kid, and Carrell is funny, so the Get Smart movie was a guaranteed winner, right? $#@! you, Get Smart fans! Okay, but Burt Wonderstone has Steve Buscemi, and thus could not possibly suck... $#@! you Steve Buscemi fans! (Of course in the case of Wonderstone, I wouldn't have had any kind of expectation of quality if they'd advertised how much of the movie included Jim Carrey, who is the anti-funny as far as I'm concerned)

(Of course in the case of Wonderstone, I wouldn't have had any kind of expectation of quality if they'd advertised how much of the movie included Jim Carrey, who is the anti-funny as far as I'm concerned) LORD no. While I enjoyed Anchorman (despite myself, considering that I went in with few expectations and can only handle Will Ferrell in moderate doses) all of the other films looked like festering crap to me, exacerbated (or perhaps evidenced) by the stupid naming routine that I was complaining about. Several of the movies on that list are considered to be among the worst ever made. I was really back and forth on Get Smart as well. I too was a fan as a kid and thought that Steve Carrell, who I enjoy, was a perfect choice. But the trailers just didn't inspire me. I wanted to like Burt Wonderstone enough to give it a look but the trailer left me iffy on that one as well. I guess I dodged two bullets- like I've always said, while my taste isn't shared by everyone, for my own sake I'm picky enough to have fairly consistently chosen movies that I find entertaining and missed most of the ones that wind up sucking.

If you liked Anchorman, you should probably check out Talladega Nights. Actually, with your hatred of rednecks, you should probably checdk it out anyway 8) It's standard-issue Will Farrell humor centered around NASCAR (and not particularly respectfully). Like almost all Farrell movies, I HATED it upon the first viewing, and it got funnier and funnier each time my wife forced me to watch it.

I used to do paid surveys and was once given the opportunity to provide feedback on an unfinished trailer for Talladega Nights. I tried to be as objective as I could and explained that the trailer looked fine for what it was meant to do but that I simply don't like Nascar (and sports comedies in general).
While I still feel the same- I have to try very hard to be a good boy and not make fun of rednecks and / or people who love to watch cars make left turns - I've strangely had a few people still recommend that movie to me. Either they don't know how much I hate sports, movies about sports, and comedies that are about things that masquerade as sports- or they legitimately feel that the humor is strong enough that I'd enjoy the film anyway.
As my friend back home said, "You'd love it, it makes fun of Nascar". As I said in return, "Why would I need to see it then? Nascar already does a great job making fun of itself".

I'm no friend of NASCAR. Despite being considerably more charitable to rednecks than you, I cannot grasp the obsession. Racing in general strikes me as the sport of waiting for someone to crash. If no one crashes, then nothing happens, and if someone does crash, you're an asshole for being excited about it.
I don't feel like Ricky Bobby was a traditional "sports comedy" or that it's big focus was making fun of NASCAR though. IMO it was pretty much what Ferrell does every movie... it was a host of whacky characters in stupid situations with a vague semblance of plot to string the various scenes together.

HBO also did a really good bio-pic on Walter Winchell, with Stanley Tucci as the guy...

Not the greatest comedy movies but ones I enjoy most
48 hours Beverly Hills Cop Major Payne Madea goes to jail (Tyler gets way too much critiscism for the whole "he's not representing black people in a positive light" the repetitive formula of his movies is a valid critiscism
Happy Gilmore
Friday (as Mike said hilarious from start to finish mikes better than Half Baked although Dave is better than every comedic talent In Friday)
The other Guys.
