Anybody watch, or had watched this back in the day?
This was like, one of the absolute top shows for me growing up. Hogg always coming up with schemes, Sheriff Rosco, boy what a character he was, one of the best comedy acts of the show. Of course the deputies was cluts as well, but to a lesser degree then Rosco. As for the stars of the show, they did what they needed to. Drove a bad ass orange Charger really fast and shot exploding arrows.
Of course like every show there was supporting casts that added to it in their own little ways as well.
The show was kinda like watching Smoky & The Bandit in a few ways.
What did you guys think of it? I'll always love it myself as, with DBZ, I have a strong nostalgia factor going towards it.

You mean the TV show with the hinted incestual relationships?

I hate that show. It's one of the most popular shows in my area, everyone loves it. However, I don't find it funny in the least.
SN: I live like 10 miles from Hazard, KY. The city in which the show was named after.

I was a big fan when I was a kid. I'm not sure what kid doesn't love the idea of zipping around dirt roads in an indestructible car jumping the same pond over and over and blowing stuff up with dynamite arrows 8)

Yeah I liked the show as a kid. Loved the theme song, had a big toy General Lee that I carried with me EVERYWHERE. In fact one of the earliest memories I have is when the family put down new carpet in the living room and I lost my little Boss Hogg Hot Wheels car which I swore wound up sealed under the carpet somewhere. I guess I grew up and just moved onto other things.

I had these Pretty sure they were hand-me-downs from my brother, but I didn't care. I also had Rosco and his police car. The neat thing about the mego cars was that the roof had a "hatch" that would open up, and that' show you put the guys in. Toy Collecting Nerd Note: Mego didn't want to pay to license the likeness of the Dodge Charger, so they had to make the car look "significantly different" from the real one on the show... hence the fat tires and strange looking rear end.

My step-uncle loves the show. He has a bunch of collectibles like this. He even has an autographed picture from the guy that played Cooter. lol. Cooter.

GASP !! That's gotta be the car I used to have as a kid. Unless it was some generic knockoff (I can't say, I couldn't have been older than five or six) then man, that's it. That's my beloved toy car from the early 80s, the first time I've seen it since probably 1986.

That's my beloved toy car from the early 80s, the first time I've seen it since probably 1986. Chances are if you had a General Lee that held action figures made in the early 80's, it was the Mego deal. Until the mid-80's, Mego held licenses for just about everything, including both Marvel & DC comics and every popular TV series and movie that wasn't called "Star Wars." For some odd reason they insisted on competing with themselves, producing multiple versions of everything which effectively ended up destroying their own corner on the market. They had 3 1/2inch (sometimes multiple lines of the same characters), 6 inch, and 12 inch stuff, and boatloads of accessories (primarily vehicles and playsets). Mego was king. I used to have a Mego collection worth thousands of dollars... that I sold for hundreds when the bottom fell out of the collectible toy market in the early 2000's. Had I held onto it,.I could have sold it for thousands today (not as many thousands as it was worth in the late 90's, but those days are probably never coming back)

I have one of the car models of General Lee (the ones you need to put together and paint yourself and stuff, I used to love making them as a kid).
I don't like Dukes of Hazzard too much anymore though.

Cooter was originally supposed to be a bad guy 8) I'm fairly certain Rosco was suppose to be a serious cop starting off as well, and we all seen what became of him. lol

You know, I have a model of the General Lee as well, dropped it once though while showing it to a friend who also loves the show, and broke a wheel off. I placed it back in such a way that it looks ok, but it's purely show. Move it a inch and that wheel is coming off.

I used to love building models as a kid, as did my brother. My dad had a HUGE collection of old model kits of his own.
