Still play WWE 12?
If not how about any of the Smackdown VS RAW titles?
How about the RAW games on XBOX?
The Smackdown games on Playstation?
Whatever classic game it may be, you can talk about them here. This thread is the thread for the old timers. The nostalgia classics.

Woo! I'll be honest, the oldest wrestling game I have played is Legends of WrestleMania...

I have a few N64 wrestling games. Comparing to today the graphics are laughably terrible.

True.
Somehow all the Mario games look pretty good though.

I have a bunch of old Wrestling games. Probably around 15 altogether. I still play Day of Reckoning, Day of Reckoning 2, SVR 06, HCTP, and SYM sometimes. I would play No Mercy if my N64 still worked. I'd also play some Revenge.

I wish I could finish SVR06, but my game doesn't fully work. I'm so far though Season mode and it freezes if I try to go any further. I cleaned it, buffered it, it just won't go any further.

My version of SYM won't save at all. It creates a save file but won't write over it. Therefore, if I want to play through season mode I have to do it in one sitting. However, it could be my system or memory card. I've not looked into it extensively. I used to have another PS2 and would borrow SYM off of a friend and it worked fine then so I don't think it's the memory card because it's the same one but it could be that the system and that particular memory card don't work with that game.

Is it a official Sony 8MB? No it's a Max Memory and it's 16MB Some games won't work unless on a official Sony 8MB card. Example, Guitar Hero 3 freezes my PS2 if I try to use my 128MB 3rd party memory card. But when I switch to a Sony 8MB, that game runs flawlessly. Most games should work on any card. But there are some that will cause problems if you are not using a Sony 8MB.

It's weird though because that same memory card worked fine with my friends copy. I have thought about buying another memory card to see if that would work, they don't cost that much. I just haven't got around to it.

Their might be slightly different coding between models that's causing you a error? Just a guess.

Then my slim model went down and I purchased a fat model. I then bought my own copy of SYM. Now the memory card won't work. It may very well be the system with that card.

Hmm, well the classic models (hate the term "fat" lol) should be the least troublesome. Here is my guesses.
1) Where the classic models are older then the slims, the memory card jack is starting to wear out.
2) Your memory card is starting to wear out.
3) Maybe your copy of SYM was different then his? If his was plain while your is Greatest Hits, it could cause issues.
I've seen the coding difference cause issues to my Gameshark. Regular version of Budokai 3, perfect. Greatest Hits version, codes won't work. So I assume they mess around with the coding some on different versions.
Other then that, I really don't know what else to say.
