So anyone else but me watch History Channel? If so have you watched this?
I'm actually pretty entertained by this, they deal in a lot of guns and cars, and a few of the characters, mostly the old man and Chum-Lee can be fun characters at times.

Fucking hate that show these days.
To be perfectly fair the show started out fine and was perfectly entertaining to watch. You get a lot of history, you see some interesting (though surely staged) bartering, you spend half an hour relaxing with enjoyable enough personalities. Fine and dandy.
Then, like all things these days (especially where "reality tv" is concerned) they pimped that shit into the ground. The focus of the show became more about the silly (and also undoubtedly staged) squabbles and interpersonal relationships among the cast, the Old Man became more punchline crotchety, Chumlee became more retarded, and Rick provided more shit-eating chuckles when bending his customers over a barrel before cutting to the backstage interview and talking about how much of a fortune he was going to make on his latest robbery. And, as always, the show was buried- BURIED- into the ground with endless day-long marathons and repeat airings.
Still, it beats the fuck out of "parasites who make a living going from storage locker to storage locker pilfering the belongings of people who have fallen on hard times wars / stars / whatever the fuck it's called".

f*** "reality television". Seriously, f*** it hard and bleeding. There are few things I dislike more. Anyone who joyfully seeks it out is either too young or too retarded to know what television was like when there were such things as "writers", "actors", and "actual concepts".
EDIT: To be clear I'm not referring to you Justin, like I said Pawn Stars wasn't too bad at first. Not all of the shows start out bad, they just inevitably turn out that way.

Now you're just getting to the point of annoying nostalgic who is complaining about how things "used to be so much better." Well guess what buddy, your days sucked just as much as today, if not more so.

I don't expect you to understand. Creating a television show by pointing a camera at people that happen to exist is the bar that your generation has been raised to accept from the start.

No, I absolutely hate Reality TV, but you're making it out to seem like TV was SOOOO much better in your days. Well it wasn't. Just like their are low points on today's TV, there were low points on your TV.

I never said that ALL tv from before your time was better, nor should I have to. It goes without saying. If I annoy you for hating something that's so clearly insipid, I find you annoying for setting your standards so low.

I don't find you annoying for hating on Reality TV, I find you annoying because you claim your days of TV were a lot better than ours. If you compare the worst of one generation to the best of another, of course one is going to win out. Why don't you get your head out of your doughnut hole and look at the good points in our generation instead of just the bad?

I don't honestly feel that there's a lot to approve about your generation. Sorry.
Does that mean that I think past generations, including my own, are infallible? Of course not. Every generation has its shitty people, shitty trends and shitty television shows. That anyone feels I should have to argue this point might as well suggest that I need to clarify that the sun is good for mankind even though it might annoy me on a hot day.
I never said that all television from the past was better. What I said was that "anyone who joyfully seeks ("reality" television) is either too young or too retarded to know what television was like when there were such things as "writers" "actors" and "actual concepts". A broad and dismissive comment, sure, but oh well, I stand by the sentiment.

Yes, because nothing on TV today has good writing, good actors, and actual concepts. Let's just go ahead and ignore the actual good TV shows and such, and look at only the crap from today.

I actually agree with all of this. I liked the show at first but it's awful now. A lot of shows do that and it sucks.

Only one of those people was an established actor in my day, and I'm not going to speak ill of the dead.
And Gramps is right. He's seen the wars.

Reality TV ruins people's lives. It fucked up the Red Jacket gun shop. It fucked up the Duck Commander hunting company. It fucked up a simple pawn shop in the worst place in America. It even fucked up a fat little floozie and her white trash family.

Yeah, I've watched it too. Its funny, how sometimes the experts come and name the price, then Rick is like, "He said $9000, it is in perfect condition, I can only give you $3500".
