I do read, and I have read Tolkien, but I'd be lying if I said I've read Tolkien even remotely recently enough to know my way around a conversation with someone who's intimately familiar with the material. I think the last time I honestly picked up one of the books was in 2002 and before that it was probably the early '90s when I was in junior high.

Pffft, nobody hear reads. I used to read. I loved reading too. Then school forced me to read idiotic books that I didn't like, and I kind of lost interest. I do read some books still though.... Anyways, a few asked for this section, so I added it (even though I feel like it's going to be a ghost town like the e-fed section).

If memory serves, I've read the Hobbit and Fellowship of the Ring. Not sure if I'll ever get around to reading Two Towers or Return of the King.

I've thought about it. I'm very impatient when it comes to fiction.

Years ago The Onion had a fantastic article about how football fans were making fun of Star Trek nerds. In describing all of the stupid things that the nerds do, the article- which was written as if by a neutral source who was merely reporting the football fans' point of view- casually and repeatedly threw in examples of how the football fans were equally and hypocritically pathetic.
For example it said something like "Aaron Peterson, between trips to the bathroom to apply the team colors that he intends to proudly display on his shirtless body in sub-zero temperatures at today's game, discussed the immaturity of fans who attend conventions dressed as their favorite science fiction characters". It was great.
