my subconscious mind is fine. i can watch a movie depicting homophobia, will that subconsciously make me a homophobe? one of my favorite movie ever is American History X will watching that make me a neo-nazi...no. i can separate my beliefs from what it is i'm watching and either enjoy or loathe it for the quality of work or lack thereof. i get what you're saying, but it's also not how i approach the things that are there to entertain me. First of all, the message of American History X is that hate is bad. Nothing about that movie would affect your subconscious to think "hey, being a Neo-Nazi is great shakes!" ... unless you're a fan of hypocrisy, disloyalty, and anal rape. :facepalm: Second of all, it's exactly when you assume that you're in control... that you're not. The modern secular humanist mentality that you and only you control your thoughts and emotions is bunk in every possible way. Neuroscience craps all over that idea with so much evidence that it could challenge Bono's record as the world's largest piece of crap. Your subconscious mind is actually very susceptible to influence, more so when you're in a relaxed state (such as "just being entertained." The only defense you have (aside from abstinence) is to approach media critically. you say funny things you still need that hug? |

A friend of mine gave me a season yesterday as he had 2 copies. Still didn't watch it. He seems to love it though, except for the final season. He said he hated the final season.

Breaking Bad is a fantastic show. Just one I couldn't finish, at the end of the day I didn't like anybody. When that happens I can't continue watching a show. Still I can recognize when something is good.

Honestly, I am very fond of almost every girl I know. But only this particular one pulls me in no matter how much I'm strongly against her beliefs or how mad she makes me. Also, she was the first girl I ever danced with. I'll never forget resting my hands on her hips.............. I mean what? What were we talking about? Dammit I'm a hopeless romantic...
