So I got Jade Empire for Christmas and when I started playing it this happened...
It looks like my game is going at 5 FPS, but it's not. It's actually going at 30 FPS(And you can see that my mouse, and the clothing physics are almost completely unaffected by the lag of the rest of the game). I have looked far and wide via Google for solutions, but the only ones I've found are to restart your computer(Which I have done), use Windows XP Compatibility(Which I can't use in Windows 8), to do some editing with the files(Which I've done), and to do some stuff involving Steam(I have a physical copy). I really could use help with this, I'm unsure of what to do...

I'd offer to help but I don't have Jade Empire and have never had that issue in one of my games. If you run it with Fraps you can at least confirm for yourself what the actual FPS rating is though I don't know if that information would actually help anything.

Fraps won't operate on it, but Xfire did and said is was 30 FPS.
