I don't know if unifying the championships is BestForBusiness, but I'm all for it if it works right.

I wonder why they didn't save these unifying matches for WM30? Imagine the hype they could of had.
- US/IC unifying match. - WWE/WHC unifying match. - Fan favorite Daniel Bryan VS Undertaker for the Streak. - Hulk Hogan's return (if true).
I don't get why TLC and now some other non Mania PPV.

The reason they're not having the unifying matches AT Mania is because every single poll has shown FOR YEARS that what the fans want is one-on-one mega-matches for a single title AT Mania. If you unify them before Mania, you can provide the fans with that while still providing yourself with an "out" to divide them again if it doesn't prove good for business in the long run. You'll notice; just as Jericho did, Orton is still carrying two belts. They haven't released a new "unified" title belt because they're not sure if it's going to stay that way.

That and the fact that the WWE Title has only been around for a year (give or take a month) Assuming you mean the current WWE Title belt. The stupid spinner thing was also the WWE Title. According to the WWE's revisionist history, so was the Winged Eagle, etc. I don't think that the lifespan of the belt has anything to do with the reluctance to make a new one though. They've made belts with a fairly brief lifespan in the past (Smokin' Skulls, the Rock's "Brahma Bull" belt, Edge's "Rated R spinner" etc)

Also Bane to answer your question, The Brahma Bull belt was never seen on TV.

There was some they made that they never even used, wasn't there? lol I'm not sure if the title belt they made for Andre ever got used for anything. The cost of these title belts might seem like a big deal, but it's a drop in the bucket to the WWE, so don't expect them to shed any tears over tossing one out after only a year. ... the cynic in me says it's actually good marketing. New belts = new action figures, new toy belts, new replica belts, etc.

Also Bane to answer your question, The Brahma Bull belt was never seen on TV. I want to dispute you on that because I swear I saw him holding it on TV... but now that you mention it, I think the only time it has been on TV may have been when it was on Rock's trophy wall...

I personally like the current WWE champion. It could be because I too am just very happy the spinner is gone.

I'm okay with the new belt. Not a huge fan or anything, but it's a nice compromise between classic titles and modern styling. Unlike the spinner.

I kind of miss the name plate but I like the current belt more than the spinner belt.

If you guys are talking about the modern WWE heavyweight belt, I hate it. I still don't like the fact that it's just a big fat company logo. Lazy, uninspired design and not one that looks particularly classy or prestigious. Yes, it's better than the spinner, but is that criterion really as high as they want their bar to go? As for the US / IC merge, I'm all for it. Like the recent merge of the two "main" belts, I'm happy to see that they're trimming some of the fat and whittling down some of these needlessly redundant titles. By maintaining just a small handful of belts and not swapping them between champions as rapidly as they used to, I think the company can really restore some of the luster that's been lost from their brand. My only question (since I'm not going to read four pages of pretty much any WWE topic) is whether they're going to be getting rid of the US championship or the IC one?

I don't think anyone knows, but my guess is; neither. Someone will carry both until they decide to split them again. If it comes down to dropping one... I can't see WWE letting it's own title go in favor of an old NWA belt

I wouldn't either, I'm just a little worried because they made the boneheaded maneuver of throwing away the IC title before and it matters even less now than it did then.
