Wrestling news sites noted earlier that WWE recently resolved their issues with Roddy Piper because they want him to be a part of WrestleMania XXX weekend.....
Rewind, Here is the story the above mentions: Pipers choice is understandable right?
Anyway here is the latest:
Word now going around it that WWE wants Piper and other WrestleMania I stars, mainly the main event participants, to headline the Hall of Fame ceremony that weekend.
The idea being pitched within WWE would see Hulk Hogan, Roddy Piper, Mr. T and Paul Orndorff to be inducted, making it the first time ever that a match itself is inducted into the Hall of Fame. It's possible that Jimmy Snuka and Bob Orton, who also participated in the WrestleMania I main event, could be inducted as well. Inducting a match into the Hall of Fame opens the door for similar inductions in the future.
Mr. T has reportedly turned down WWE in the past but word now is that officials recently reached out to him and are negotiating. If this plan goes through, obviously it would make Hogan, Piper, Orndorff, Orton and Snuka two-time Hall of Famers like Ric Flair.
Thoughts?
A good or bad idea to start inducting matches/events into the HOF?

Ehh, I'd rather have legendary matches in the hall of fame than jobbers like Koko.....so, I think it's a better idea than some of their past inductions.
That being said, the match they chose is a terrible one.
I also think Piper fighting for his son is great. I would fight for my son too.

Yeah but most of the Jobbers (like Koko) done good sometimes great stuff elsewhere & though they may not deserve a HOF induction for their WWE work some of them "jobbers" deserve it for their work in other companies, So there are good reasons to induct those people. A match getting an induction however is just stupid

Koko was a fantastic worker, much like Lanny Poffo far ahead of his time.
and from what i can gather they will be inducted as contributors, not necessarily the match itself. much like the UFC inducting Forrest Griffin and Stephan Bonner, for their match at the TUF final. Bonner and Griffin aren't the best fighters ever, but their contribution to the sport can't be overstated...

Not to mention, Koko (which should never have been inducted) wasn't even the worst of the inductees, he's just the first that came to mind.

One cannot simply induct a match into the HOF.

That being said, he's another example of one of the people that I don't think should be in the Hall of Fame at all, lol.

It's not a literal name, The WWE HOF is a HOF for a bunch of other companies as well (including WCW) due to the fact the WWE Owns the rights to A LOT of the older companies and in some cases owns the actual company, hell there are multiple people in the WWE HOF that never even stepped foot in a WWE ring. That's why they get inducted for their work in other companies.
