I'm just wondering. They showed a tribute to her on Smack Down, and what it showed was a few black and white photos of her younger wrestling days, but all actual video she was older and not a active wrestler.
I'm just wondering why no video of her wrestling when she was younger.

If there is , Vince wouldn't have rights to them as she wrestled for the WWWA and didn't actually get contracted to the WWE until the 90s.

... WWE owns archival footage going back to WAY before the 70's. They've got (non-WWWF) footage that's black and white. They've used footage of matches from the 40's before. The issue is that Mae Young wasn't a particularly huge star in reality, and women's wrestling was never as big as men's, either. I'm fairly certain that Moolah won one of her "world championships" while wrestling matches as part of a traveling carnival. There probably isn't a lot of footage of Mae Young wrestling in existence.

Vince owns plenty of footage. The issue is either that there wasn't any footage that was intact enough to use, or that they chose (for whatever reason) not to. I've never seen the woman wrestle (not counting her comedy appearances as an old woman), but apparently she was fairly technical, and was well-respected by her male students for her ability to mess you up if you got out of hand. She also wasn't bad looking.

I found a women's match from the 1950s, but no Mae Young...
You can watch it if you want...

i was just going to post that Mildred Burke was the "star" of the ladies wrestling scene. Burke was the Ric Flair, Mae Young was the Harley Race.

I was only saying if they had footage they would have used it. I doubt they had any licensed footage of her to use.
