Actually, now Wolverine is a worthless neutered nanny character whose primary purpose is to play the new Professor X to the lamest group of young X-Men in decades. Cyclops is the character whose job is to piss people off, and he's amazing 8)

Current Cyclops is awesome in the last few years he's proven to be quite interesting and it wasn't the same old thing.

Professor X hasn't been a mandatory character since 1987.
Don't quote me on that, I have no idea what was going on in '87.
Regardless, Xavier hasn't been needed for a loooong time and the best place for his character right now is the grave.
I didn't like how they turned Cyke into 'just another doucheface cool guy wannabe" a few years back, but he's found his way back into my good graces.
I'm not going to bother wondering how his X-visor operates though.

I don't give half a crap if he killed Professor X, and I don't even blame The Phoenix. Sure, he never would have had the balls to do it without the Phoenix in there, but if you've paid any attention over the years, you realize that Professor X is a complete toolbag who constantly manipulated and lied to the X-Men, including editing, implanting, or removing memories whenever it suited him to do so. Xavier was everything that was hypocritical and wrong with the X-Men in one silly crippled package. Cyclops did what had to be done.
I'm sorry, but if Cyclops isn't the most interesting thing going on with the current X-titles for you... you're just not paying attention. Not only is the THE man, he's finally reclaimed his place as the one true leader of the X-Men, while all the other X-groups are sitting around jerking off.
