- Crowded arena. - Uncomfortable seating. - Possibly obscured view. - No volume control. - No breaks.
Is it just for a chance to meet the superstars live? Because I don't see many other advantages to going to live events over the comfort of watching from your own home.

I personally don't like them live, but it is a cool experience and if I had the chance I'd go. I'm not going to go out of my way to go to a live event though.
That made less sense after I read it out loud.....but it's what I intended to say, lol.

Because it's F'N amazing, Hell of a lot of fun & There is the possibility that something will happen at the event that will become a life-long memory, IE: I was at the 1Hour HBK VS Cena match

So people that live away from the major arenas can go to a WWE event, should they want to do so.

Because it's fun..?
-and you feel less awkward when you start a chant with the live crowd as opposed to your television set.

It was a fun experience to be there. I got to see HBK vs Ric Flair, was cool to see that live. So while yea being in the comfort of my own home is awesome. Being there is pretty fun.

There is an energy in the live arena that you cannot experience at home. Sometimes I'm not sure it's worth the price of admission, but every once in a while, you see something really special.
Honestly? Luger vs. Hogan on TV? Meh. Luger vs. Hogan live at the Palace, with Luger being the first guy to take Hogan's belt after the formation of the nWo? Amazing.

Because you get a whole bunch of fun, it isn't that crowded considering arenas are designed for a lot of people and you get to join in with chants and have a whole load of other people doing it with you. Also the noise and energy of the crowd does not translate over tv very well that often. Best part, you can watch raw without Michael cole and jerry bleating on about stupid stuff.

The hotdogs. In a lot of cases house shows are better than Raws and Smackdowns you get some great matches that sadly will never be seen. I believe recently The Rhode Brothers and the Real Americans had a steel cage match that been getting a lot of praise. I remember MVP saying in a interview his favorite match was in at a house show vs Shelton Benjamin.
I wish WWE would record this matches sometime and release on DVD or something.

I enjoy live events, though I seldom go. If I could afford something within the first ten rows of a WWE event every time I went I would go more often. Nothing fun about sitting in the nosebleeds just to watch Fandango wrestle the Great Khali. I do however find the much smaller circuits an excellent alternative to the WWE. Where I am from there is GLCW (Great Lake Championship Wrestling) that comes through now and again. I can drive 15 minutes, sit within the first 5 rows, and watch a Great production for under $20. The last time I went The card was filled with a mix of really talented up and coming wrestlers trying to break into the business. As well as a ton of former stars to help draw for the gate such as, Roddy Piper, Ax and Smash of Demolition, Animal from LOD, The Road Dog Jesse James, Sean Waltman, Aka X-Pac, And Al Snow. That night Al snow and X-Pac put on a show that was far superior to any match I've seen in any of the more recent Wrestlemanias for a small Gym full of people. I also got to meet and greet all of the aforementioned former superstars. Good times!

It's not just first row or nosebleeds though? I got tickets to raw in November and we were on the 3rd row of the lower tier. It was plenty enough of a view. When we go in May we'll be about 4 rows back on the lower tier by the stage, that's going to be a decent view as well. You don't have to have premium seats or cheapest seats when category b seats are more than good.

Better than Edge vs ADR? Better than CM Punk vs Taker? Better than CM Punk vs Chris Jericho? Of course not, it had Al Snow in the match.

X-Pac could put on a better match than Undertaker has ever had in his entire career while high, blindfolded, and with an anal tear. Even with Al Snow.
