Your point is.....that you only like what you grew up with, and aren't willing to give adaptation of television a chance? Tell me, what's so different between what you like, and what's on t.v. now? what i grew up on was far more entertaining , they way some of you see it , its like a sport , the way i see wwe as is an entertainment product & i truly believe that , well not that they dont care about "wrestling" but its not a primary thing for them if it was then why are they calling their wrestlers superstars instead of WRESTLERS!?!? with era of wwe , its watered down to maximum level & its frustrating to see how low it gotten...... growning up with the rock , stone cold , hhh, batista , hardy boyz, the dudles , edge & christian , val venis , lesnar , angle , eddie & chavo guerreo , benoit etc................ those were the times imo where i was like hey , wrestling is cool but now its just so un entertaining & wwe just got lazy with their product & they got all the talent they need which is so damn mind boggling So what you're saying is... that current WWE sucks because it's different from the way it was 5-10 years ago?

Anyone who says the AE was better than now is wrong. AE was awful The comical thing about the AE is that even when they strip away a lot of what actually happened and focus on the "good" stuff (like they did with AE Mode last year)... it still comes across as pretty ridiculous. People who bitch about the booking now need to go back and take a look at the booking then.

i admit i am a bit nostalgic for the wrestling i watched 20-25 years ago. but, the business has changed. how we watch has changed. how guys break in has changed. the backstage goings on is readily available for anyone who wants to read (and believe) it. my issue with the current product is that i want more in ring. i'm not blown over by amazing promos..i'm blown over by people that can put on a good compelling match. so, because i prefer matches over gab, i watch the ppv's and don't pay very much attention to the weekly tv's.
i said it before and i say it yet again. the AE was a necessary evil to win the monday night war. the issue there was it ended careers. almost worse than that it desensitized the wrestling fan to the garbage they were doing. you can only push the stuff they were doing so far. at some point you need to pull it back in. they went far to long with it and the "fans" they gained through that era pine away for the good 'ol days of lawlor screaming puppies at a woman young enough to be his granddaughter. today's wwe isn't exactly my cup of tea, but it's certainly better than that.

eh. I don't think the AE era was awful necessarily. Just vastly overrated.

I hated the fact they had to rely on vulgarity to get the ratings of the time. There was certainly more of a focus on that.
I wouldn't go so far as to say there wasn't any wrestling though. There was some good in-ring talent at the time but for the most part it was overshadowed.

Then again, the people I'm comparing him to is everybody in the WWE. That includes the people weighing down the term "average" including (but not limited to) the likes of Darren Young, Great Khali, Titus O'Neil, Alberto Del Rio, Brock Lesnar, etc.... and Daniel Bryan, and Roman Reigns, and Dean Ambrose, and Antonio Cesaro, and Curtis Axel, etc... Yes, I see what you mean. The next generation is like...completely screwed. There's like nobody good... I never denied there was nobody good. I said that there were more weighing down the average, which is true

cena is completely grabage imo! the only thing i'll give him props for was he paid homage to the throwbacks jerseys ... and this is why nobody can take you seriously. When it comes to wrestling skill, Cena is at the low end of average (sorry Bane, you're just plain wrong... Cena occasionally rises to the occasion, but for the most part, he's pretty much minimally competent)... but he's still infinitely better than a lot of the losers that you want to push off on us. The fact that you don't see the difference between someone you dislike, and someone who is "garbage" is pathetic, and it's why you're a laughingstock. I also never was exclusively talking about wrestling skill, I was just talking about as a character, whether it be charisma, wrestling skill, or whatever....

Make no mistake, I'm not trying to defend the attitude era. I simply think awful isn't the right word. It certainly was awful at times but for the most part, from what I've seen, I've always thought of it as a mediocre product that could've been better if the vulgarity wasn't as heavily emphasized.

WWE never cared about wrestling their goal was to always entertain and I'll prove this to you later on. 2.Take away the AE and WWE has always kinda been PG 3. Steve Austin, Batista, Jeff Hardy, D Von, Bubba Ray, and Lesnar area all mediocre at best as wrestler. This brings me back to point one dispite all of those guys being terrible wrestlers you found them entertaining and in a earlier post you said you don't like Del Rio who is a very good wrestler but terrible on the mic. You're actually what you hate. 4. I agree WWE booking is terrible. i like del rio , if you dont believe me go look @ my post on the 2k forum ......... ive always said that del rio was a good wrestler that never could adapt to the wwe style of wrestling. its just his character is so stale that i kinda just gave up on

Any era that was headlined by "Stone Cold" Steve Austin is, unquestionably, awful. Not to throw the guy too far under the bus since he really doesn't belong on the same garbage heap as Austin, but lets not forget that HBK was also a huge part of the genesis of the AE... BEFORE he cleaned up his act and stopped acting like a complete douche.

Austin is garbage, so in the end, I guess I can't really disagree.
