Spider-Man is expected to swing back to theaters May 2 and director Marc Webb should be working on the last finishing touches by now... However, the director and his crew were caught shooting some very last minute scenes. Is this a bad sign? Will Webb has enough time to make The Amazing Spider-Man 2 as fantastic as the fans expect?
As the Dailymail reports, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 director and his leading stars, Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone, were spotted in an abandoned railroad tunnel in Brooklyn on Sunday, filming some last minute scenes for the superhero sequel. This is not necessarily a bad thing, but is it not a little bit worrying that shooting has not been wrapped up yet? This last minute filming is taking place only a couple of months before the creators are expected to present the film for their impatient audience. The official theatrical release date is set for May 2, 2014.
Garfield was spotted first on the set, together with the director Marc Webb, but later they were joined by Garfield's on and off-screen girlfriend, Emma Stone. Garfield plays Peter Parker, who embraces his new identity as a superhero and starts to enjoy his double life in the sequel. His daily activity is to save the life of his fellow New York citizens, while he spends his evenings with his lover Gwen (played by Stone). He has to fight his "greatest battle", with a whole group of villains as Spidey, while he also tries to balance his private life as Parker. Emma Stone however, is not just a silly damsel in distress, as she told Total Film last year: "He's the muscle, she's the brains."
