You forget Punk & WWE have got 7 Months to work things out. As long as he makes it for Next Gen I'd guess that he probably doesn't have a choice on WWE using him in their games. 7 Months time and 2K15 will be near finish with the roster 90% finalized. And I'd guess WWE will try to work things out with him fairly quickly, He does sell quite a lot of merch.

My first reaction is, of course, cynical- that this is just typical "new kayfabe" audience jerking that's become so popular these days. My second reaction is that if Punk is legitimately pissed about the WWE (as well he might be, considering that he was ready to leave a couple years ago before the WWE reportedly made certain promises to him) and if the cause for this anger is the terrible Rumble booking then I guess I could sympathize. My third reaction is that I can't be a hypocrite, Steve Austin walked out of the company and I accurately called it as him being a petulant little b****. So............

My second reaction is that if Punk is legitimately pissed about the WWE (as well he might be considering that, supposedly, he was ready to walk before and WWE promised to do certain things to keep him around), especially if what he's pissed about is the stupid Rumble booking, then I can totally sympathize. My third reaction is that I can't be a hypocrite, Steve Austin walked out of the company and I accurately called it as him being a petulant little b****. So............ Finish the thought dude. Punk is being a bitch, and you know it. Whether his feelings are misplaced or not... his reaction is childish.

Good reference! (Especially since HBK was, in fact, being a whiny little punk b**** as well) as i read i got more annoyed that his name wasn't brought up. it is selfish to walk away just like that. but, if he doesn't want to be there anymore..should he really stay? Yes. I guarantee that when Punk was on the rise, there were dudes that didn't feel like being in the ring with him night after night, didn't feel he deserved what he was getting etc. They stuck it out and helped him get Over because that's what wrestlers do. Punk does owe it to the next generation. I may bitch about Undertaker, but in some ways he's the model of what a professional wrestler should be... starting with the fact that he's been completely unselfish.

Yeah Taker is according to everything I've read about him backstage, A really cool dude.

I really don't know. Honestly, I could see this one as going either way. One one hand Punk doesn't owe anything to his fans or the company if he feels that his contract isn't being fulfilled to the terms of the agreement. At the same time it does indeed seem like a childish reaction to what's happened, if indeed that is the reason behind all of this. Assuming that it's even legit, which I generously give 50/50 odds to it being. I dunno. We've all been there- the job sucks and your employer keeps dicking you around, changing policies or not following through on his word. Maybe he promises one of the hard-working employees a raise and winds up spending the money on a new bimbo secretary instead. I can see myself becoming disillusioned in an environment like that, especially because it echoes many of the employment situations I've actually found myself in. Every person has a breaking point, a time where he feels that, despite doing everything he feels is right, he feels that he's in a hopeless situation that's not only not going to improve but probably going to get worse. Everyone has a line where they have to say "enough is enough", and maybe Punk has reached it? I don't know. I still feel that it's lame to just bail on the job and leave your employer hanging like that, especially if it's just a matter of "Oh, I'm not getting my way. I should have more" (aka Austin syndrome). At the end of the day, without knowing what Punk's contract with the WWE actually includes, I can't place blame on either side. Was he lame to just walk out without notice? In my opinion, yes. Did WWE actually give him a legitimate reason to walk out by failing to deliver on something that they agreed upon? Can't say.

Goldberg always seemed like a cool guy... When not talking about Wrestling or himself, Backstage though I've heard he's an absolute dick From what I've seen I would say "straightforward", which I can respect. At the same time I'd also call it "cocky and brash", which I can't.

funny how it's called "austin syndrome" when hbk made a strong practice of high tailing it when he didn't get all his demands met. i get hating on austin is a cottage industry here, but hbk is guilty of same tactics..

Hence the "When not talking about wrestling or himself" When he's just chatting about things that don't include the above he is as you put "straightforward" but when he talks about wrestling and himself, he speaks as if he's God's gift to wrestling. Which he is quite clearly not.

I'm hardly a huge Michaels fan or an apologist for his bad behavior, but as I'm constantly having to point out; the details matter, and when you consider the details of both instances, Austin was the bigger bitch. Sorry.

Cottage industry? Lol I've been maintaining the Austin truth brigade on my own for the better part of the last 15 years. While HBK was a backstage prima donna bitch, found ways to avoid doing jobs and threatened to walk out on any number of occasions, I don't recall any instance of him taking it upon himself to quietly hop on a plane and fly home.

Alone? Scuze me? 8) I think he's referring to HBK leaving after his loss to Austin at WM (that's usually what the whole "lost his smile" thing is a reference to), but that was a different situation. Whether you buy into HBKs "back injury" story or not, the fact is that he told the company well before WM that he was done after WM. He "gave his notice" as it were. To my understanding, Austin and Warrior are responsible for the two most blatant "power play walkouts" in WWE history, and nobody cuts Warrior any slack on his stupid move either.

Which he is quite clearly not. It's not so much that but rather his general demeanor. He seems to be an intelligent and well-spoken guy who clearly gets his thoughts and opinions across in a no-nonsense way and again, I can respect that. At the same time he exudes a certain arrogance, a standoffish sense of "I'm gonna say what I want to say and I don't give a fuck if you like it. If not, too bad. Talk to someone else".

.. would strongly debate the notion that Goldberg comes across as intelligent.
