In recent weeks you may have heard the story of 28-year old Jamie Carrillo, She was the victim of sexual abuse starting at the age of 12 at the hands of her former basketball coach, Andrea Cardosa, The abuse began at Chemawa Middle School in Riverside, California. It lasted until Carrillo was 18-years old. Carrillo claims Cardosa would frequently take her on out of town trips to have sex with her.

“She just completely manipulated me into thinking that I needed her and I wanted it,” Carrillo said. "Everything was stolen from me". Jamie also claims that Cardosa would threaten suicide if their secret was revealed.
Carrillo says it took her years to confront her abuser. By the time she worked up the courage she thought Cardosa would not be prosecuted because the statute of limitations was up. So instead, Carrillo tracked down her former abuser at her new job as an assistant principle at Alhambra High School in Alhambra, California, and confronted her via a phone call.
During the call Cardosa admits to the abuse and said she regretted it. The videotaped call was posted on YouTube on Friday (January 17). Within hours administrators at Alhambra High School were made aware of it and Cardosa resigned.
That is the story of Jamie Carrillo, Well in an update to the story, A second victim identified only as Brianna has also come forward in connection with the case alleging sexual abuse. She said Carillo's video prompted her to come forward.
In addition to a second victim coming forward it was also announced that the former teacher & assistant principle Andrea Cardosa was arrested Monday (February 3). Cardosa is charged with 16 felonies and is accused of abusing the 2 women between 1997-2010. She faces 11 counts of lewd acts on a child and five counts of aggravated sexual assault on a child. Her bond is set at $5 million.

Cardosa's lawyer, Randy Collins, is working to reduce his client's bail. He issued a written statement on the matter.
Cardosa faces life in prison if convicted of the aggravated sexual assault counts.
